    We really are tanking

Bradley at the point, Green at the two, Wallace starting, Bass over Sullinger or Humphries, Lee over anyone,.....

We really are trying to tank.

Playing players out of position on purpose is tanking.

Is there anything more pathetic than Bradley trying to handle the point?

apparently he's the best they've got. if you haven't heard the starting PG is out with an injury. the team sucks, plain and simple. but, for the record, i hope stevens is losing on purpose and i hope he keeps doing it.

Crawford should start at the point, and Pressey should back him up.

The starters should be Crawford, Bradley, Green, Humphries, and Faverani.

Backed up by Pressey, Brooks, Wallace, Sullinger, and Olynyk.

I would just like to see our players play the positions where they can be at their best.

Playing Bradley at the point is just plain cruel.

    Re: We really are tanking

I really didn't want to believe it in 2006, but after watching game after game go by it was painfully obvious, I started telling posters we were tanking and they refused to believe it.  It wasn't until midseason when ESPN aired a segment about teams tanking with the Celtics as the headliner that people bought in.

I'm not saying they would be good if they threw all in and played their best 5 but that's the point, they might get close to winning 40-50% of their games and wind up costing themselves a high pick.

Instead they'll showcase the young players they want to package with vet contracts to create an attractive package for contending teams and shelve the players they want to keep.

Don't know where the OP is coming from either.  Bradley played the point last year when we were not trying to tank.

Besides you have no clue what Crawford and Pressey are doing in practice.  Crawford is woefully inconsistent and makes poor decisions and neither Crawford nor Pressey play D nearly as well as Bradley. Neither will be part of the long term rebuild.  Bradley is the best we have at PG.  As many others have said.  Bradley at PG or Green at SG is not trying to tank. We;re puting our best players on the floor, but we simply stink.

Wrong, they played Bradley last year because after Rondo he was the only player with enough handle to bring the ball up court, once there Pierce and the rest could create assists and offense.

Bradley will likely be showcased and get packaged and traded along with Wallace, Bass and whatever other contracts they want to jettison assuming anyone wants him.

Green played 20 minutes last game (2 fouls?), Sully played 14 minutes (1 foul), Fav played 18 minutes (2 fouls), Pressey their best PG in preseason hasn't played at all, Brooks maybe their best scorer at the two hasn't played at all...

I agree with the original post.  It's like we could have actually won a couple of those without coaching intervention.  Putting the ball in Bradley's hands with green and Crawford on the bench is offensive suicide.

    Re: We really are tanking

Tanking in any sport is plain wrong.

Wrong for the fans who support their team, wrong for the people who pay money to attend home games, wrong for people who pay to watch their team on TV, Internet, whatever.

They ought to either be refunded, or be offered serious discounts for tickets.

Secondly says a lot about the players. Some may well buy into the 'tanking'. Or the coach, coaching staff doesn't allow them to win.

Thirdly you have gambling on sport. What does it do to betting markets when a team is deliberately going out there to lose. It can't be classified as match fixing. But betting on a team that is 'tanking' ought not to be allowed. It's not a fair game.

Easiest way to deal with it? Give every team that doesn't make the finals an even chance of getting the number one pick of the draft.

On top of that if it can be proved. And that is the big thing, the Coach/GM be fined for bringing the game into disripute.

Sick of rubbish games played by teams that want to lose. It certainly got the Celtics on the road to nowhere after the 96/97 season.

The draft is more luck than science at the best of times.

Ha yeah - with a different rotation this team would be 4-0.

C'mon man! You do realize that it helps to have really good players right, that you can't just move mediocre gujys around and trick other teams?

By the way, Lee was plus 17 tonight and had a good game while he was in there, and Sully is just getting back from injury, so your analysis isn't really tied to reality very closely

"Come on, Ainge is lying if he says he's not thinking about Andrew Wiggins."

Of course he is, but Stevens is trying to win games. That's the great thing about having a young, imperfect roster. Guys play hard (most of them) and you can still lose lots and lots, while figuring out who is actually any good.

I'm in favor of playing Green even less as we already know what we (don't) have in him.....
