What team could handle the defense of Rondo, Bradley, Pietrus, Bass and Dwight Howard?

Not to mention Pierce and possibly Green on offense and most likely resigning Ray Allen and KG?

Stiemsma and Johnson are developing shot blockers and post defenders.

Dwight would have a bright future if he comes to Boston as a free agent.

Miami and Chicago ( small in the frontcourt overall ) would have to be afraid.

Don't trade away the Big 4, Bradley, Johnson, Stiemsma, Pietrus or Bass!!

Not even for Deron Williams. Deron is the PG version of Carmelo Anthony. Great entertainment, poor defense ( a championship essential is great defense)

Noone in the NBA can give us what Rondo Pierce Ray and KG each do best. Chemistry is a very delicate thing. Remember Perk?!

How do we react when whoever replaces Ray is unable to hit a tough clutch 3, or does not require nonstop defensive attention? ( there's a negative chain reaction on offense when you can cheat off of people)

Or whoever replaces Pierce discovers he doesn't have the same size cohones in the clutch?

Or whoever replaces KG is just not the same level of warrior?

We know noone can replace Rondo. The only guy at 6 foot tall to match Wilt Chamberlain and Magic Johnson's career high game #'s. 17rebs 18pts 20ast! Keep counting!

Stop the "The Pierce, Allen, and Garnett make Rondo look better" crap.Great players will always make each other better. They will also not look as good without other great players around them. Do we have to look anywhere other than the careers of our own Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and KG to understand this?

How about Doc and Ainge? Before the big 4 our fan base was almost through with them. What changed? Players!!!

That's certainly what Ainge is thinking also, however Orlando making big push to keep DH there. Would be great for us if it could happen though.

Agree on Wiliams, not as great a pg as they make him out to be.  I think he will begin to break down physically over the next few years as well bu that's just a hunch.

if DH came to Boston there would be a center rivalry between LA and Boston again that hasn't been matched since Russel/Chamberlain.  DH would win championships and go down in history.  who knows what he's thinking, but the way things are going, if he goes to free agency, he might look at the Celtics and realize what a great basketball situation it would be.

Thank you! Too many people think that the only road forward is to trade nearly everyone; if one reads the majority of posts, it seems that some want an entirely different team. The problem with trading away the main four or parts of them is that the Celtics wouldsimply not get equal value in return.

Word is Orlando wants back into a Lakers/Bynum deal. But it only stands a chance if DH signs an extension in L.A., which to this point he has resisted.

Not sure it would be a smart play for L.A. Add Kobe and Gasol to Orlando and I don't know that DH could put up the numbers Bynum's been putting up this season.
