Avery Bradley should be a great finisher on drives to the basket. He's fast, strong and has pretty good ups. But he's not a good finisher, not even a reliable one. Invariably something bad happens as tonight on several attempts that should have been clean makes.
At 2:56 in the 4Q tonight he was fouled and attempted to palm the ball off the floor with his right hand. After a couple of tries he just scooped it up from the floor. Is part of the problem simply small hands?
So I checked. His NBA measured hand length is 8.25" - that's on the very low end for NBA SGs.
Additionally, though his wingspan measurement is 6'7.25", his standing reach is only 8"2.5", another very low number. It looks like his wide shoulders take up a lot of that wingspan, and that his arms aren't really that long for a guy 6'3". **
Those numbers reveal a lot.
** It happens. Orlando Johnson has a listed 6'11" wingspan, but only an 8'2" standing reach. When you look at him it becomes clear - he's all shoulders and chest.
