We will see how it plays out.  If the C's continue to rise in the standings,  then that means they are playing better on the road.  If thats true we will be a team to be reckoned with.

Agree.  It will also be an advantage to them in the playoffs if they can win road games.  They have been a horrible road team this year.  If they can win more regular season road games it should help them in the playoffs.

Last season it was KG and Wilcox starting before Wilcox went down with a heart ailment.

And they stunk until KG moved to the 5 and Bass played the 4.

This team if Green and Pierce can show up most nights could give the Heat all it can handle. I know you don't think so, but if Green can show up three out of four games and play like tonight I bet it can happen.

It all depends on the whistles down in South Beach... or if we can even make it to a series with the Heat... that is why getting the 4 seed is the best possible thing for us, homecourt in rd 1, win in 5 and then as rested as we'd ever be for Miami in rd 2, like how we beat the Cavs in '10

Wilcox will of course have to be giving 6-8 points and rebounds in

I said OVER and OVER just a few weeks ago how Wilcox was really doing well last Jan/Feb before the heart condition. 60% from the floor in 20 mins, getting those 6-8 pts/reb's, and if we can get that for the rets of the year he'd be better than any big who was available at the deadline.

We saw how it took Green until just last month to be fully over the surgery. Well Wilcox is a little older and had the thumb injury, he may just now be starting to round into form.

He certainly can (and will have to) outplay Haslem and Joel Anthony if it comes to that

No reason to insult Doc with name calling.  Its pretty obvious he is not a idiot.

    Have to agree.

People have to understand that Doc sees these guys at practice and knows what their capabilities are and are not.  That said I would try Wilcox at starter to see what it does for the team.

Re: Wilcox should be a starter

The 4th seed is the best seed to have

The only way the 4th seed is worse than the 3rd seed is if Chicago and a healthy Rose are waiting and seeded 5th.

Chicago w/o Rose (or Rose less than 90% of what he was), Brooklyn, Atlanta, any of the 3, it doesn't matter 3rd seed vs. 6th... what matters is that we'd play Miami in round 2, after hopefully having the stones and smarts to knock off the first rd team in a game 5 at home.

That would give us some rest and we wouldn't be facing the Heat in the ECF after getting beat to h#ll in a 7 gamer round 2, like we would if we had to go on the road and face the Pacers. Maybe KG/PP could pull out a game 7 in Indy, or end it in 6 at home like they failed to vs. the Heat last year... but it would take so much out of us that the Heat, likely winning in 5 in the 2nd rd... would just pummel us.

Re: Wilcox should be a starter

We'd absolutely be most ready to beat Miami in rd 2 if we were able to beat a team in 5 in round 1.

If somehow we get lucky, the 10% chance we have to beat the heat comes true... then we'd face the Pacers, or Knicks, or some team that would be just happy to be there in the ECF. They will have felt they accomplished their season by getting there and that they'll have more chances in the future.

KG and PP will know the score, they'll know this is their last/best/only chance at a return to the finals. the young guys will be playing with so much confidence after knocking off the Heat, that we'd do to whoever we face in the ECF what we did to the Magic in 2010.

That is the route to the finals... 4 seed, no Bulls with healthy Rose at 5, then Heat in round 2

Why would Danny have tried to trade Wilcox for "wild thing" Crawford?

The same reason he drafted Giddens over DeAndre Jordan.

    Danny doesn't value bigs.

So we have an idiot coach and a horrible GM but yet you think the Celtics have a shot at going all the way?

    Fascinating lack of self awareness.

Considering that we have a shot and Doc is a liability is crazy.  We are challenged in areas and have a chance because of Doc.  I do think he needs to try Wilcox in place of Bass.

We lost a staring point guard, astarting pf and a good player off the bnch and DOC is a idiot!  How about THE COACH OF THE YEAR.

Re: Wilcox should be a starter

I just read an article on Wilcox and how he got to stay with the Celtics.  Collins was sent to Washington due to a loophole Wilcox had in his contract.  It seems like Doc does not have the best relationship with him.  Doc has felt he has not been rebounding or giving full effort.  Explains why he is not starting.

Right. Contrary to popular belief, doc is not a bad coach.. he is a coach who will ship out the more talented guy capable of playing 20 mins and giving an 8/7 when he's not doing that and keep the less talented guy giving 100% even if he's only playing 10 mins and giving 1/2...

Wilcox blocked the trade, time to be a man and play for the rest of the year like he did last Jan/Feb before the heart ailment
