The Celtics may be the worse rebounding team in the NBA this season. Relying upon us to win the boards would be a shaky proposition

It also helps that we have a true Center that does'nt get pushed around

[QUOTE]Celtics got 44 total rebounds, 15 offensive, in Game 1 and it resulted in a win. It's a tried and tested formula, so to speak, win the battle in the paint and you win the series. The Celtics don't have to get a lot of offensive rebounds, just limit the Knicks 2nd chance points.

Let Rondo shoot as much as possible and there will be a lot of rebounds available and improve their rebound stats and especially their offensive rebound stats much like he did by missing free throws and  just about every shot he took from more than 2 feet away and given that a lot of the shots that he did take within 2 feet were blocked it allowed someone in green to be there to get an offensive rebound..........    try this instead.... make a lot more of what most people would consider routine jumpers and layups and there will be a lot less need for rebounds......

Dude did Rondo still your lunch money?  You seem to be infatuated with him.

Rebounding so important. Limit those stupid second chance points for N.Y. Can Big Shot Ray continue his assault on the boards and get 6 more tonight?

We're  getting  killed  on  the  boards  tonight.  BBD  not  only  isn't  getting  any  defensive  rebounds, he  can't  cover  the  4's  and  5's.  Our  bench  looks  horrendous  thus  far  in  this  series.  So  much  for  turning  on  the  switch  when  the  playoffs  begin.  JON  continues  to  play  well.  KG , as  expected, has  picked  up  his  defense  on  Amare  tonight.  And  the  bench  has  to play  much  better  if  we  are  going  deep  in  the  playoffs.  Initially, I  liked  the  Perkins  trade.  Now, it's  not  looking  so  good.  Green  looks  like  a  lost  rookie  out  there  and  Krstic  is  a  softie, not  getting  any  minutes.

Re: Win the Rebounding Battle Win the Game

I understand that rebounding is the most poor aspect of the C's game, but when are the knicks going to start getting called for over the back fouls? I mean this is getting ridiculous. They did it all game one and have been doing it all night tonight and have been called once tonight if i'm not mistaken. But regardless, the rebounding effort is simply awful. At one point there was 1 Knick surrounded by 4 Celtics at the free throw line and the Knick got the rebound. Let's put a little more effort into the rebounding game fellas.
