WOO! WOO! WOO! WOO!..at the RAY! y can't we get playas like that?

classic ray, as the heat were in danger of lovelacing and going down 1-2 the jabracers, da ray takes off his glasses and turns out his metaphorical superman cape and booya! 3 after 3 after 3.. goes 4-4 on them in the fourth as lbj has the celebration moment f the year with his pumped up tude for the ray. most guys only channel that when they are raining bombs or in the zone, major cred to the lj that he would do that for another teammate with him not even involved in the play at at all.

ray = champion! KG at the same age is total toast. pp still has some left at 35 but is  nowhere near ray level in his skillset and the man is age 38 and could easily play til age 40 to 42. notonly is he the best shooter ever, he's the most ch bomber ever!bigger the game, bigger the moment, bigger he is..usually!

    RayRay's having a ball ballin'.

He had it made in Beantown though.

Got to play with our ASPG to extend his fadin' career.

Dunno what happened to send him packin'.

    Anybody know?

How are his old Celtic amigos doing right about now?

Gettin' perfect  suntans maybe, chillin a bit....  countin' rays (no pun)?

    While fossilized RA's still workin'....

Rondo&Co  sure had RA pegged, didn't they?

Re: WOO! WOO! WOO! WOO!..at the RAY! y can't we get playas like that?

the answer as to "why" we can't RETAIN players like that is easy- rondo was horrible to play with for ray.  ray's existence in boston was 3% ADDITIONAL runnning around triple / quadruple back picks the slower and SLOWER rondo got and the more rondo dominated the shot clock.  and ray was still ending up with mostly contested shots.  the result was ray gassed out by playoff time.

in miami you have lebwrong and wade who are slashers and can dish off the drive.  rondo stopped dishing off the drive altogether in about 2010 1/2 and never did it enough to get people like ray easier shots as ray's man would have to slump down to try to stop the driving rondo.

i don't blame ray one bit for leaving.  playing as a shooting guard with an underachieving prima dona like rondo must have been horrid

Doc ran Ray so much it took at least 2 years off his career. The Heat can already thank Ray for one ring, if he keeps playing like this, they may be thanking him for another.

Doc didn't run Ray ragged, Rondo did.  On the floor, the PG calls the plays and when Rondo ran the plan, then ignored Ray - it drove Ray crazy.   When Ray did finally get the ball after running all day, Ray's shot was then challenged as Acie Noted.

Our team played better without Rondo - not because Rondo isn't a great player, but because Rondo is selfish and dominates the ball.  He actually contended he knew more about basketball than Ray - WRONG!!

Between Danny trying to trade Ray to the hinterlands every year and Rondo not wanting to play with Ray - we lost a high character, hard working, professional who was great for the Community and the team's image.

Way to go Rondo and Danny!

The notion that doc would give Rondo free reign to abuse Ray like that and do nothing to step in sez a lot about the toxic chemistry that existed on a Rondo-led team both on the court and in the locker room.

That Ray would take far less money  to preserve his pride/sanity by getting away from a totally dysfunctional Celtic mess is certainly understandable and should be admired.

Now that the Cs team has self-destructed, Ray is playing like a champion again coming off the bench in SoBe, something he likely would have been more than willing to do in Beantown if grown-ups had been running the show and had treated him with the respect he earned many times over.

I don't know for sure, but I'd bet money Envisioning a Rondo led team with very little other talent is one reason Doc chose to coach Chris Paul (along with having control over player personnel vs watching Danny take risks with Doc's chemistry aka Perk and others).

Ray Allen is good because he is on the Heat. If Ray Allen was on the Bobcats would you writing a post about him right now?

    No.

Oh really? NAME ONE!....(crickets chirping)...Nobody wants to play with this guy...Don't listen to guys who have no desire to play here talk about what a great player he is, because if he was that great, there'd be guys trying to get here pronto.....the proof are in the FA's running to get here to play with Wee Devilman PG...what's that, NONE have been running here? In a league now dominated by wing players, you have to have a PG who will keep things fresh with mixing the tempo (get them some fast break dunks!) and not stalling the tempo so everyone's sprinting in mud in the half court set with rondo's man sagging into the key because rondo is a single threat player- dribble until 7 seconds left then .......  well, you know.

i can't see any quality wings wanting to play with rondo until he demonstrated he was willing to run and NOT hog the ball down toe SSOL like he has the last 3 years

    Ray chose to pursue rings.

If Boston had Lebron and weather like Miami's, we'd still have him.

Gotta hand it to you Commie, Ray has consistently been better than I expected in this year's playoffs. He's had more impact and been flat out impressive.

You didn't get much right in this year's playoffs, but you nailed that.

"he's the most ch bomber ever!bigger the game, bigger the moment, bigger he is..usually!"

Yeah, except for a couple of big games the year we lost to the Lakers in the finals where he couldn't hit the side of a barn.

But he's found redemption from that...

a brief analysis of possible reasons "why ray is better"...............  because he's not running triple curl back quadruple screens for 11 seconds to "get free" while ignoramus rondo pounds the ball up top.  i hate miami's offense and personnel but they do things generally right.  of course that is going to benefit ray.

ray was also played the right amount of minutes in MIA.

when in BOS ray was played a steady diet of 35 clicks a game for TOO MANY YEARS- it amounted to a whole extra season it was so many minutes.  after the ring in 2008 ray should have been 28 a night and save something for the playoffs.  never happened

True, Rondo ran Ray into the ground but lets take off the blinders and not absolve Doc from sharing a great deal of the blame along with his ASPG. The HC surely has the authority and mandate to enforce his system/game plan strategies.  So either Doc endorsed this style of play or his authority & leadership was trumped by Rondos personal agenda.

In either case, Doc comes out looking weak.

[/QUOTE]doc couldn't very well save RayRay for the playoffs with reduced minutes because young Rondo was busy sleepwalking/being bored/saving his own self for the playoffs... at RA's expense among others.

Turns out to have been quite a dilemma for the doctor.
