Just wondering what you guys think because with the new ownership of the Kings, I'm not sure they would want to build around Cousins.

And there are very few teams who would want Cousins and his bad attitude.

    i don't think i would...

without KG and PP rondo could blowup and score alot of points...and his shooting look like it improved before he got hurt....people don't get how good rondo can be...he's a triple double waiting to happen.

    no. Dude is head case.

Folks should understand - Rondo is highly unlikely to be traded until he shows how well he can recover from this injury. At that point Ainge will likely seriously consider trading him, he's really the only chip the Celts have. But other factors will weigh in also.

That's a tough one. Good big-men are hard to come by in this league. So when you weigh that against a unique player like Rondo, who happens to be the best passing PG in the league... who's proven he can step up in other ways as well... that's tough man.

I don't know.  Maybe not on a young team.  If KG isn't there, then there will be no one in the locker room to keep him in check.  I'm not sure.  If the Celtics are lucky enough to draft Carter-Williams, then maybe.  If he's still a problem, then I'm sure you could find another team willing to take him on....he is a rare talent.

I would do it. it is a lot harder to get a good big than a good pg.  If KG stays I think he could keep Cousins in line.

only if KG is around for another 2 years.

That is a good question. Answer - if DA and Doc think DC could be turned around, AND KG serves as his mentor next year, then yes!

Quality bigs do not grow on trees!

The team needs to figure out Pierce and KG.  Then other possibilities are in play.  Getting rid of Rondo based on our end of year performance will make for a very poor offensive team.  Cousins will not thrive without some pieces around him.

What makes KG this miracle worker????

Re: Would you guys still trade Rondo for Cousins?

In my opinion, Rondo is the best playmaking guard in the NBA.  But, most teams can play 5 on 4 and allow him to shoot uncontested from the perimeter. And, at times, he's come through but he is not consistent. Also, he can drive to the basket and he's probably the best rebounder for a guard his size. He's a mediocre foul shooter too.  Will he develop and be a prolific scoring guard like Paul, Parker, Rose etc.---no one knows but I wouldn't risk losing him for a head case like Cousins but for Hibbert, yes, in heartbeat. We need a big man desperately and whether Melo is it, who knows. Doesn't seem to be one in the draft.  I'd go after Bogut if we could get GS to bite for  3 or 4 of the 6  Terry, Lee, Williams, Crawford, Bass and Wilcox.

Time for Pierce and KG to go. Cousins can be the first piece in rebuilding the Celts.

Green, Sully, Cousins and hopefully our pick in this years draft. Next years draft will be very strong if we can get one of the top 4 picks the rebuilding process will not take long.  Everyone else should be used in trades to help bring in guys who can put the ball in the basket.  We need offense, guys who can space the floor and be a threat from the three point line.

I think that Avery Bradley is another tradeable chip that the Celtics have. Teams that are interested in Bradley may be willing to accept other expendable players on the Celtics lineup (Bass, Lee, Melo, Crawford, etc.) as part of a trade package. Bradley has already shown his inadequacy playing the PG position. Playing alongside Rondo, the Celtics have a very small and offense-challenged backcourt. It may be the smart thing to capitalize on Bradley's talent and reputation as a defensive specialist to move out underperforming players and fill specific roster needs.

I would try and trade Bradley and if it takes other pieces for a shooting guard who can actually score.  That or draft one in this years draft.

Re: Would you guys still trade Rondo for Cousins?

He's a bit of a head case, but so is Rondo...so really you're just looking at on the court production. Think about this year's team. How would they have fared against the Knicks or Miami etc with cousins in the lineup? I think it would have been a huge improvement. You've already seen how the team can be pretty good without Rondo. Cousins was just short of averaging a double double for the season on a bad team of ball hogs. If you do that trade, you can then draft a guard (which danny seems to be ok at) to be your guy at PG. Or you can draft a big shooter which makes your plethora of SGs trade bait. I honestly think if you can get a big piece for Rondo right now you jump on it. We've all seen what's happening with Rose.

New owner in SAC wants to make a splash!!  Not as outrageous as it was even yesterday.

If we could swing Rondo to SAC for Evans and Cousins, that would be okay with me.

Sacto would not trade Cousins straight-up for Rondo.  We would have to throw in our first round pick.  I still might do the trade.
