"He ended the series the second time after his good friend Steve Lappas was fired.  As it happens that last meeting was a UMass win, in Amherst.  Coincidence?  Hard to know, but I suspect the Minutemen were more than he wanted to deal with early in the year."

That's not true. I believe they played UConn in the 05-06 season in CT. That was the last game.

Always good to hear from Donnnn, cheeroh, whr, and all you other BC bashers. Tommy amaker is doing a great job at Harvard, but let's not anoint him as the second coming of Coach K yet. In 14 seasons as a head coach, he's taken his teams to exactly one NCAA tournament (Seton Hall in 1999-2000). Donahue has been to three. At Seton hall and Michigan, Amaker's teams had two winning conference records. And his first two years at Harvard he was 8-22 and 14-14.

Nice, you finally admitted it?  You are the Happy New Year Fool!  For 2012, make it a point to keep working on those English language skills.  2011 didn't seem to help speed your improvement but don't give up hope.

Must be playing with your manly tent on the couch seeing all the Big Boys playing, while at BC,  the Flippo Athletic Department is enjoying their Roman Holidays praying for some spiritual salvation with Cardinal Shaun for 2012? Could there be a second collection appeal forthcoming for BC athletics on the revenue lost?

Nice appearance by the ACC in this Bowl madness?

The ACC does appears about as lame in the football bowl system as you do in these forums.

It must have been a letdown for the Johnnies after coming off the big wins over BC and St. Joe's.

    Slim,
You almost always add something to the discussion, unlike most many of the backers of Nutmeg State athletics. Thanks for the info.

If the ACC is so bad, if BC has the worst athletic program in the history of the NCAA, and if Gene D. is the dumbest AD of all time, then why is UConn trying so hard to get into the ACC? Wouldn't they be smarter to stay away from this sad bunch of losers and continue in the Big East with ??? and ??????

Re: Big night in New England basketball

So BC got in originally because the ACC wanted a doormat basketball team and a guaranteed easy win, but now they want UConn in because they want more competition? Wonderful logic. Quit whining.

In Response to Re: Big night in New England basketball : uhhh yeah, you were close.  problem is the ACC is full of TOO many doormats now and they need more competition as the ACC is recognized as a 2 team race every year.  By having all these non-competitive teams it hurts the ACC and RPI for the entire ACC and hurts NC and Duke.  This is why they wanted solid basketball teams including Uconn before Pitt but BC/GDF started whining.   Is that logic too difficult for you to understand?  before you go personal on me, try to understand a little bit of what you are talking about.  Have you been living under a rock this entire time?

Typical uconn fan thinks college athletics are driven by basketball and RPI ratings.
Duke and NC aren't worried - Duke is 2nd in RPI and NC is 12
Conference expansion is driven by football, basketball is 2nd fiddle. The ACC doesn't want uconn because uconn football sucks!
If the ACC wanted uconn, the 11 other member schools wouldn't give a **** about what BC and GDF thought. The ACC as a whole does not want uconn.
    Get over it!
