    Re: Football future

So what are we comparing, the two teams as they stand now?  Yeah, great, Uconn is better, no kidding.  But we have also been comparing them historically and it doesn't add up.  BC is much better, ever if we only go back the last 5 seasons.

My point is that Uconn getting to a BCS bowl doesn't mean anything.  Someone from the BE had to make it and they were the highest floating piece of garbage in that conference.  That they made a BCS bowl is nice for them but is not a point that can be used to compare BC v Uconn.

    You're kidding aren't you?

C'mon Donn, BC was weak, but would beat Pasq's Uconn mess in football this year.  Only trouble is, they can't play each other because both AD's spend their days weighing their balls and taking out the ruler to measure each other.

Mo, the past few BC bowl appearance have been jokes because the program has stagnated and in earlier times would not deserve to qualify.  Let's hope it wakes up soon.

    Re: Football future

    THE REAL BOSTON COLLEGE LANDSCAPE:

1--Gene DeFilippo for the 4th straight year has let the great offensive minds and coaches be hired all over America including Meyer, Sumlin, Leach, Fedora, Rich Rodriguez, (so many more), and even A&M fired Mike Sherman a way better qualified Head Coach than Spazoo.

Way better coaches being fired all over America and we Eagles are stuck with loser Clownshoes Spazoo.

We are the laughingstock of the ACC and America.

2--Gene said what the fans think doesn't matter.

    ENJOY 2012 GENO:

A-Long rows of empty aluminum seats at Alumni Stadium.

B-Donations have fallen off the cliff and soon the weakling Trustees and comatose Leahy will force you out and your stooge Spazoo.

C-BC is a recruiting disaster. Parents of stars will not send their talented kids to play for Spazoo. BC is Colonial League now and getting that level of talent.

This will really hurt the next coach for 2 years at least.

D-Parents are bypassing GDF and calling BC's Father Leahy and asking if Spazoo will be there! Isn't that a clue?

E-Alums and former players are calling BC demanding BC replace this Head Coach clown, but BC is too Jesuit cheap to have fired Spazoo and pay him 4 years or $5.4M like was done to Sherman at A&M this morning, $4M for one lump sum, to get Sumlin, or pony up to get devout RC like Urban Meyer for a less stress $4M++ a year.

    3--Kevin Rogers.

The real story is now leaking out? Better start doing some damage control or do we all close ranks and buy him Mass cards?

Or...is Kevin Rogers on Van 11, loading veal parmagiana subs for the poor on Spazoo's "Veals on Wheels" program?

My alma mater is run by IDIOTS!

College Football is CASH KING, as you can see by the hiring and firings all over America.

BC has a head Coach with such a poor, poor record of performance vs Top 25, 0-7, versus end of year ranked schools, 0-11, (more later), that is mind boggling, except of course for the Globe's Sunshine Barf Bucket Boy carrying the daily pabulum from Yawkey---Mark Bluntshammed!

    Have fun Eagles!

    Jingle bells!

No, you are wrong.  Not any time recently.  Any time this season and last.  That's it.  And I'm not even sure about this season.  Comparing Uconn football to BC is stupid so knock it off.  Uconn must have more than one good season in Div I before we start comparing them to anyone.

Different story in basketball there Dog man ... try taking a look at the AP polls and last years conquest of it all, the National Championship .... now, BC losing to BU on the hardwood is a true statement where BC is at  nowhere!

Not all of them.  Remember, it wasn't long ago they lost the ACC champ game.  Problem is, when they did they got passed over 3x times for bowls because they travel like garbage.

the entire system is so stupid.

    Re: Football future

True.  Last bowl trip I made was to Charlotte vs Navy.  Great game, lots of fun and the walk on kicker had a blast winning it...but the stadium was SO empty, I passed on the next few bowls, which have gotten gradually worse.  I agree, the championship games were well earned and valuable recruiting tools, but at that time, BC never made the next leap.
