So who are the innocents? According to the NCAA, there are 17 schools with major athletic departments (whose football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision) that have never been found guilty of any major violation in any sport since 1953, when the NCAA began tracking rule violations. That's about 14% of the total.

The bulk of these schools (13) are programs like Air Force, Alabama-Birmingham, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Florida Atlantic and Kent State that play in second-tier conferences where the pressure, the scrutiny, the level of recruiting and the expectations are smaller.

One standard for BC, one standard for everyone else.

Alumin giving rate for BC is "terrible", for other schools....crickets.

BC has not one major infraction yet somehoe is "scandal plagued".

    In-san-ity.

No doubt, these schools and their administrations should be proud of how they play within the rules.  But, the quotes in the article are true, dealing with so many 18-22 year olds, you're on the edge of potential trouble at all times.

As for cheeriho, his posting is just a sad case of a back corner basement dweller using mom's furnace as a toilet and taking liberties with the family pets.

None of THEM has had a betting scandal in any sport.

    How about those minutes?

How about the lack of publicity in college guides about the admin's duplicity?

How do you explain />32K applications including I believe a record number this year?

How about the turnover figures for the past 15 years?

What about criticism for Calhoun and the suspension, while bringing up other such things at BC which no one in the College was associated with? How about the dismal APR and loss of now three scholaships?

How about PC losing eight scholarship basketball athletes in two years?  Shouldn't the AD and Pres be held accountable for creating an atmosphere where this can happen?

Is losing a scholaship athlete ok because a new coach did not want to keep him?  If so what are the other reasons why it is ok when an athelete leaves when a new coach comes on board?  Is it ok if the kid decides on his own to leave?

Stick to your childish pointless rants. When you try to introduce facts you lose badly

"Eight months after a point-shaving scandal embarrassed its basketball program, Northwestern University suffered another blow involving gambling today when four former football players were indicted on perjury charges related to betting on their own games."

Time for the children to take out a big miiror and look at where they are in life and perhaps consider their attempt at an education good time wasted.

Reading the above, one would have a hard time justifying a Phillips Andover or Exeter graduate consider Collegium Bostoniense a challange to academic excellence as discuss so frequently?

What I find interesting is that LP uses other schools to prove why BC is terrible, yet when those same other schools have issues of their own he chides us for bringing them into the conversation...

I TAKE BACK WHAT I POSTED.

BC IS ON PURE EVEN FOOTING WITH NORTHWESTERN, IN THAT BOTH SCHOOLS HAD SCANDALS IN TWO MAJOR SPORTS.

    WOW, WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!

I GUESS WE CAN SAY THAT WE ARE ONLY THE DIRTIEST CATHOLIC SCHOOL, BUT ARE TIED FOR FIRST OVERALL WITH NORTHWESTERN.
