SEC downtime in basketball this year, except for beating up on the Fairy Queens at BC. Alabama teams are good however, especially UAB. Look for a deep run in the March madness sweeps now the Conference games have begun, while the Queens still fiddling with D-2 flunkies from the Ivy League.

Apologies to Umass fans. Put me on Ignore. I have no interest in Umass bball but stop by occasionally to respond to the illiterate, homophobic bigots that dominate this message board.

Hey 82nd - I can't keep track. Are you a Bama fan or an Auburn fan? You don't really need to answer because we all know that you are neither. You are the classic front runner and if Idaho was playing in the BCS champioship game, you would be an Idaho fan

I'm sure you saw this news item from Fort Bragg. Being the big tough macho guy that you are, we would love to know your reaction.

Gay marriage in the 82nd Airborne??????

Appears their must be some Jesuits hovering around the 82nd Airborne, or are they still in Ireland?

UMass is now 23 in the AP Top 25 poll and 20 in the USA Today Coach's Poll.

They are now number 2 in the RPI behind Wisconsin. Still in pretty good shape but they need to beat Providence on the 28th. It won't be easy.

Austin and Bullockare out for the season in Providence. Good for UMass. Also good to see a University uphold their academic standards.

It's "Tommy Amaker" Day at the HARVARD Cage... Buffoon College the low life of New England  D-1 Basketball is at Storrow Drive (Brighton) tonight. Let's see if their 5 year losing streak remains uninterrupted ...

You might recheck that schedule. The Crimson are AT Fordham today. They'll face the Eagles at 4:00 on New Year's Day, and I know you wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to cheer for your favorite team. Hope to see you there.

Appears it didn't matter anyway Wig Wam Man.  VCU had better recruiting than Altar Boy Donahue's YWCA dream team. Jesuits will need to go back to the shower room and practice a little harder.

That would be some pretty heady stuff. Joining the ranks of Stanford, SMU, and ... Houston. Phew!  The mind boggles.

    Right on!!!

BTW: Do the UMASS players enroll in any ESL courses out there in Amherst? Might be good if this giant of an academic Community College, in the Pioneer Valley, enroll these kids in a class or two before they reach the Maine Red Claws.

    Certainly no Notre Dame ...

Rough times for BC. This Coach's last year at the helm.. sparce attendance at Conte, and a deplorable D2 team. Catch the Duke game? Powerful man Powerful.

Only team worthy here of a cite is UMASS/Amherst, and the academically challanged misfits recruits from Brooklyn, who can't add with numb nuts Derek Kellogg.

Figure UMASS as a low seed in the old perverbial NCAA bracket One & Done, which will make our Nor'Easta clowns wet their bed, as another lost season in the mecca of NCAA sports goes drifting away on another storied NCAA season.

Certainly no Notre Dame, where football stars spend their time on the phone fantasizing about, then crying over fake dead girlfriends, because there's nothing else to do out there in South Bend, the intellectual capital of Indiana (not to be confused with French Lick).

    In response to SlimPickensIII's comment:

Bloomington, home of Indiana University, is the Academic Hub.  Purdue's another great spot.  If you're looking for an education in Engineering then Rose-Hulman is very good.

The Football Factory is pretty far down the list.  It's best known for, well, Football.   If you have no specific goals in life and no specific talents, and alot of excess cash laying around,  then you can go there and pretend you're part of the elite as you swill Bud Lite and cheer on the Irish.

I'm not sure there's been a whole lot to cheer on the past couple of decades though, so you might find the same quality at IU-Kokomo at more affordable prices.  Maybe the buildings aren't as nice, but when you're sleeping off a game do you really notice those details?

Been there many of times, no Madison, and no Ann Arbor ... actually the best Engineering is Illinois, Champaign/Urbana & UIowa. Purdue is the land grant State University.

and, BC a failure in everything ACC. Baseball, Football, & Basketball.

Should we now shoot for BC Spring Baseball on it's many attempts to land in Omaha?

Champaign/Urbana is an Elite Engineering School, no doubt about that.  But I was keeping it in Indiana.

I thought Bloomington was pretty nice.  My ex-wife was orginally from that corner of the state.

Bloomington, also the location of "Breaking Away," one of my all-time favorite films.

The Minutemen are off to a great 4-0 start, with wins against ACC,  SEC, and B12 opponents.  A win against ranked New Mexico today will almost certainly result in a top 25  ranking for UMass as well.

I guess UMIE considers St. Joe's a formidable team? To me, UConn's victory over a patheic Harvard want-a-bee was an embarrassment. There's the difference trolls'...

Buffoon College's ride in the ACC has been rocky, so rocky the beach has turned to sand on these clowns... anywhere but away do they seem to win the small one!

Very philosophical of you Cheery, except aren't most beaches sand? Or don't they let you on the beach?

Orange Men in for a tune up to show BC why theire admission into the ACC spells Dooms Day for BC's win streak at 1.

UMASS beats the Bonnies, let's get all excited in Assachusetts. Orange to invade Conte, and make a fool of Wonder Boy. ACC fails, Duke a sad team, UNC a bust, and the ACC a craper of a conference.

Long for the Days of the Big East.
