Seeing that UMass already beat the Bonnies once this year, and beat Saint Louis and Xavier, winning the A-10 Tournamnet is a very realistic proposition.

Strangely enough, it is [NCAA bid] a real possibility. there are NO easy games in the A10 this year. its a pretty solid conference. but temple was the biggest challenge. if UMass plays tough like they did today, i dont see them losing. Smart basketball, that's the key. Chaz out of control, or poor shot selections could sink the ship, but this team looks pretty good

An at-Large isn't happening. A sub-70 RPI and a weak SOS hurts them, and there are too many teams that can make a better case. They definitly make the NIT, very likely hosting one game at home. They HAVE to win out if they want to make the NCAA, but it's a step in the right direction for DK.

Huggins hasn't coached at Cincy since the 2004-2005 season.  Guess those lessons must really last, huh?

Good post Slim, as was your previous one. Pathetic crowd in Starkville - arena looks to about the size of the Mullins: Was pretty sad to look at all those empty seats (maybe they're on spring break too?). The Show Has Hit The Road: Next stop Seton Hall.

Kudos to Vermont! UCONN, Vermont, Harvard, and UCONN great to see other "local Universities" getting good press!

The game last night had just over 2K fans. That is bad but I guess the fans had less than 30 hours to plan for the game but you would think they would more than 2K.  Either way a great win by UMass, at this point they are playing for next season and gaining a ton of experience along the way. Thei team struggled earlier this season to win games away from Amherst and now they they are beating top 25 teams (Temple) and SEC away from home.   Next season with all but one player back UMass wil be a top 25 team.

Thanks for the info - I missed that announcement. Still, a bad rap on the community: You could've gone to the  game and seen one hell of a battle!

Yes, but this isn't Storrs, Hartford, or (dare I say it) Bridgeport. UCons aren't going very far - the dream time is over..................

Mississippi State was ranked in the Top 25 earlier this season and was a projected Tournament team a month ago. They had a vastly higher goal than UMass this year and the NIT for them was a disappointment. From the few plays I saw last night Mississippi State players, and UMass players to a lesser extent, played like they didn't want to be there.

Great coverage is this week's Globe about UMass basketball. Wait, there were no stories about UMass basketball. Surprised there weren't stories about BC basketball.
