No MAC hockey - Miami(O) and BG play in CCHA ... hopefully, they'll be on UMass' schedule in future years. -

The schedule was released yesterday. Opening at home, vs UConn. Still a non-conference game for a couple more years.
There's only room for a small number of non-conference games, and with travel expenses being what they are, I don't see alot of interaction with the hockey playing MAC members. The Minutement don't leave New England all season. -

Makes one wonder, Slim: BB plays all over the map, softball and baseball have southern and/or west coast trips and poor old hockey is McCutcheon's red-haired child. Guess their only "foreign" experience will be against Bemidji State in thee Ledyard Classic! -

It's kind of apples and oranges. BB has room for 10-12 non-conference games. Hockey only about 4. D1 BB is played everywhere, well over 300 programs. D1 hockey has about 60.
The BB roster is only about 12 guys and their gear isn't all that heavy. Hockey about 25 guys, and they have alot of stuff. Even double would be significant, but I bet it's more than 3 or 4 times more expensive to fly hockey to a distant arena.
I can't fault McCutcheon for this. Plenty of other things, sure, but not this one. -

I understand there is no MAC hockey but the post I was responding to I thought was theorizing how UMASS would dominate a MAC hockey league -

Actually I was mocking the guy who seemed unaware that there's no such thing as MAC hockey. (UMass would finish first AND last. Get it?)
It's possible that I misread his post and he was advocating for the formation of one. But he only posted once and disappeared, so it's hard to say. -

Stanford by far has the best of the best when it comes to superior collegiate athletics. The Olympic are an example where half the US Men & Woman's Swim & Gymnastic teams attend the Cardinal. -

It's dump on BC time and Spazoo a GIANT among NCAA & AAU giants at our pretentious want-a-be on the Hill who so greatly aspires to be big time ...
Time to watch Olympic track & field where there is not a BC athlete in London! Great athletic program not one athlete ... -

Vermont director of hockey operations John Gobeil is expected to join the staff in some capacity as well.
Vermont coach Kevin Sneddon wished his departing staffers well."The only comment I really have regarding Joey and John Gobeil is I wish them all the best luck and thank them for their service," Sneddon told the Burlington Free Press. "I really don't have much else to say because my focus and energy have to be on rebuilding my staff, and I'm excited to be doing so."

This is rather shocking news that UVM Hockey is the topic of conversation this time of year? As we regress, could we carry this further and interject Quinnipiac Hockey in future commentary? It puts all in perspective on how everybody's Summer is going? -

Yes, I absolutely agree with that. They are on the way up. I mentioned it on page 1 of this thread, there was a good reason their coach declined the UMass offer.
