Calapari was a slick, and an opportunist who rode Marcus Camby to a big pay day. Marcus Camby is now broke, and Calapari is a multi millionaire. UMASS was a dominant team under Calapari's stewardship, and he will make Kentucky a perennial powerhouse over the next 5 years. I am betting he will win 3-5 National NCAA titles before he retires with the crop of studs he has coming in and want to play at Kentucky!

[QUOTE]Camby is broke?  News to me.  Last I heard he was still playing in the NBA and still making millions per year.  He's been bouncing around alot lately, last season he was in Portland.  He's never had issues with gambling or anything, are you sure you're not confusing him with Antoine Walker?  As for Calipari, I liked the way he did things while he was at UMass.  Except for Camby he was doing it with hard work, not with an abundance of blue chip talent. They went to a Sweet 16 before Camby ever stepped foot on campus. But success did change him, for the worse.  I hate the way he's been doing it from Memphis onward. It's even worse at UK,  brings in an entire crew of blue chippers, who play a single year before moving onward. I'd have a hard time rooting for a program like that, it's  hard to kid yourself that these are college students and not the mercenaries they actually are.

Nope ... Camby is broke as his debts keep piling up from the bling and stiffing sports agents ... no Ray Allen here, one of Hartford's favorite sons'... and we won't mention Vin Baker

Back to the point of the original discussion. Trey Davis was ruled ineligable to transfer to another A10 school by a vote of the conference ADs.

So an scholarship is still available for a new recruit.

    Point Guard Wanted!

UMASS needs a quality Coach more than a point guard. Paying Kellogg $180,000 is about all you get, Bruiser Flint was an embarrassment, and Kellogg is going the same route.

The reverberation of the renumeration is taking us back to the glories that spell N-I-T. No Big East for UMASS! The insinuation of the trepidation....UMASS alumni...aka Bill Pullman....Alien Invasion in AMHERST! ....Return to the MACK for both football and hoops!

I don't see the point in wasting time arguing over the former "UConn vs. UMass" rivarly. That's right former rivalry. Since 1998 UConn has won three National Championships. UMass has had four coaches who failed to make the tournament playing in front of an arena that is 3/4 empty and overshadowed by hockey.

While we debate what has happen to UMASS Basketball consideration needs to be given to the nature of the beast, or the sum of all the parts that is: UMASS and Beacon Hill!

Good to see the great University of Notre Dame is very high on the "Toddem Pole" as usual sports, academics and soon medicine. As for BC athletics, well this is another story seems it lives in the ACC cellar as the little ferret as all suggest...
