How's the Middlesex League going to pan out this year? Is the league's overall stock heading upward or downward?
My predictions:
Standings:
1. Lexington*
2. Winchester*
3. Woburn*
4. Reading*
5. Stoneham*
6. Melrose
7. Burlington
8. Wakefield
9. Belmont
10. Watertown
* = tournament -

Surprisingly that may not be the case. Winchester tied Lexington 2-2 @ Lexington, their second time tying Lexington at home in the last 2 seasons. Burlington is 3-0, making them in first place over Winchester and Lexington (2-0-1). -

I've been waiting for Wobun to make a run at Lexington, but in actuallity they've gotten worse each season. Maybe a bigger push in the city with football now? Woburn and Concord Carlisle used to dominate the Middlesex Youth Soccer Leagues.
With Reading being down for so many years, it could've been a one year gig in 2009.
Stoneham hasn't been dominate since 2005. I think they had a set of brothers that were really good. Don't recall Belmont ever being in the top 4. Wakefield had good teams in the early 90s, but have fallen quite a bit since. Melrose is always at the .500 mark, fighting for a playoff spot.
After Lexington and Winchester, there really doesn't seem to be any other team that could make a run in the playoffs. -

Lexington used to be a middle tier program up until about 8-10 years ago. Coaching makes a difference. -

Lexington @ Melrose: 0-0
Winchester @ Watertown: 4-0
With Lexington's tie, Winchester takes sole possession of 1st place in the league with 13 points. This may be the first time Lexington has given up possession of 1st place in years. -

Lexington 0 Belmont 0
Burlington had gotten off to a hot start, but has cooled down a bit, it's questionable now whether they can make the tourney. -
