If one of the Northeastern D-1 teams at .500 were in the Bay State Carey and had Braintree's schedule, they would be lucky to win 3 games for the whole schedule, probably Milton, Dedham and Norwood. -

Alex, your exactly right about many of those other 500 teams would fare with Braintree's schedule. But such is life in the Bay State League Carey Division. I don't know whether we should commend or critisize Braintree's coach for scheduling CM twice. They could easily schedule Archbishop Williams (which is located in Braintree) and get the two pts needed easily. -

CCHS has lost yet another player, senior Will Toczylowski suffered a sickening injury tonight. CC was beating Wayland 3-0 early in the second half when the collision occured snaping his lower leg. The game was called early. It's a sad end for a great kid who had been playing very well.
CC lost their starting central midfielder sophmore Stephen Yen just 10 days earlier to a broken collarbone. And before the season their revolution academy player was ruled ineligible.
With these loses I wouldn't be suprised to see L-S end CC's streak next week. -

Usually, Braintree has a tough enough time sneaking into the tournament as it is. They are almost always around .500, but probably scheduling CM twice wasn't the best strategy. The short term goal for them is to make the tournament.
Other problem is if CM beats BC High tomorrow, they are still mathematically alive for a tournament bid. I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if CM won their last three games to get in at 7-7-4. They have BC High, Braintree and Central Catholic. -

I'm not sure if Burke is in the tournament, they are 6-8, no game reports against Snowden and Charlestown.
Malden is now looking to make a run, at 7-9-0 with games left against Everett and @ Dracut. Not surprisingly they are 0-7-0 in the league, probably most because they are familiar with one of their players and know they shut him down, they shut the team down. The Shawsheen loss is killing them. -

Right now Madison Park is on target for a rematch vs. Somerville, but this time the game is in Roxbury.
It's looking like Framingham wins their first prelim game. If Brookline wins their first game, looks like they may fact Chelsea.
Lincoln-Sudbury will probably need a tie or an AB win against SJP to avoid playing Lexington before the finals, unless MP loses in the city championships which would change that. -

Just go to the MIAA website, if you not sure which teams are in D-1S, the site will give you that information also, along with most of the updated scores. -

Everett will play at Lynn English in the prelim assuming all records are correct. If Everett wins, Masco may run into problems against Everett. Everett can score. It could be a blowout win for Masco or an upset by Everett. Depends which Everett team decides to show up.
Anyone want to play Framingham in that 9-23/10-22 game? I know I wouldn't!
As of now, it appears Madison Park avoids playing Lexington, Masco and L-S until the North finals if they make it that far.
Brookline will face either Newton N. or Westford, not an easy game either way.
L-S really needs to win their game tomorrow, otherwise it's most likely going to be a tougher road. -

As I thought might happen, L-S did beat C-C 2-1 today.
The overall play from both sides was excellent, although the officiating was not.
C-C was without yet another senior midfielder who tweaked his knee before the game. So with the decimation to the midfield, a lack of a physical presence in the middle was noteworthy. L-S was able to dominate most of the aerial battles as well.
On the other hand C-C still dominated for large chunks of this game. Both of L-S's goals were a little fluky. The first the C-C goalkeeper made a very rare mistake as he watched a ball he thought was rolling wide. The second was on a high ball where the sweeper was undercut allowing the striker through. C-C scored their goal on a much cleaner play with the sweeper distributing wide, and the outside mid crossing in for the striker to nod home.
L-S seemed the bigger more physical side, and C-C the side with a little more skill and guile. C-C was able to handle the injuries better than I anticipated. I would not be the least bit surprised if both of these teams won their respective divisions. A split on the year between these teams seems fair.
The Winchester team was at the game doing a little early recon. -

The win for L-S was huge, now they avoid Lexington, Masconomet and St. John's Prep. They still have to contend with Brookline and MP, but the road is much easier.
Chelmsford has fallen flat on their face in the second half, I don't see them beating Cambridge.
Everett hurt themselves with the loss, despite my statements earlier, they may face Brookline. I assumed Westford was going to beat Waltham or Everett was going to beat Malden at the time I wrote that.
The Everett win over Hingham was huge for Malden, back to back games and coming off a high against Hingham and of course Everett already making the tournament. Not sure if Everett rested their players, but the loss to Malden might come back to bite them, we'll see on the coin flip. -
