    Posted by mudwife

Ivy League Schools do not give out athletic Scholarships....they give out aid  based only on Financial need.

A "full ride" usually pertains to scholarship.

It would have to be an academic scholarship then......

Based on your post, if they only give aid for financial need, how does one get an academic scholarship? I am just asking, not pot stirring

Good Morning........I think most folks know my kid gets on the ice once in a while at SM..........and I make this statement not knowing if BB is a parent on our team...I really could care less.  What I know is this:  many folks out here are passionate about their teams and girls, and some are a little overboard (I'm not speaking about AB)(wink)(or a few others)(wink)......however, I think without question, BB is the most stuck up, pompus person out here; and if your from our team.........please leave. ((((unless your the goalie )))))

well paycheck life must be good....... and as far as being pompous I have my moments.... but far from some of the stuff I've read on this board.

here is the deal I don't have a dog in the fight so maybe my interest is the preservation and advancement of the sport in general.
I will concede that the remark about SME would have been best  left unsaid.

and as far as your comments................. ;)

And the unassisted tallies for Courtney Winters keep on coming. Seems like the only way to stop that team is to stop her. Is it just me or did SMH seem much more balanced last year?

Well what about below .500 Austin Prep tying Woburn? Can they upset Middlesex giant Winchester and squeak into tourney?

I heard from someone at this game that Woburn outplayed them the whole game but could not score, outshot AP something like 28-7  but the AP goalie was amazing today.

    Championship Game:
    Mt St Charles 4
    Framingham 0

Didn't make the drive down in the snow, and haven't had a chance to get the scoop from my daughter yet. Don't know if they were just that much better or if we played lousy.  Our goalie and one of our defensemen were named to the All Tournament Team though so at least a couple of them must have played well.

We could not put the biscuit in the net - hats off to the AP goalie she made some tremendous saves. Woburn needs to ramp it up for the tournament or they will drop out early. Hey AB don't forget to have the fries at the O'Brien; tomorrow should be a battle.

You do have great fries, second only to Hockeytown in Saugus in my opinion, unfortunately they cannot be part of my diet any longer. I'll get some for my son and steal a couple, see you tomorrow, good luck!

    Re: EMASS Girls Hockey 2009-2010

AB  - you might be better off sending a note to the coaches with a few hints on how to run their team against teams with 3+ lines that can roll continuously.  All 3 of their losses have come from them thinking that they can roll lines 1 and 2 on 2-4 minute shifts throughout the 1st and 2nd periods and then can't figure out why they have nothing left for repeated double or triple shifts in the 3rd.

Whatever happens, it won't be due to the girls not giving everything they've got, this game will determine the Baystate winner and they are determined to get it. It's all going to come down to how much they have left in their legs in the 3rd period.

How does this game affect you guys? Get out of the SM bracket in seeding if we win, and in it if we lose?

Something like that. It could put us into the sixth positon possibly tied with arkington and then a coin flip. It all depends on us beating Woburn or none of it matters.

I also think Reading & AP will flip a coin for the #26/#27 seed if AP wins its last game. They will both be at a .500% win percentage.

Looks like this thing is going to come down to tomorrow. We could finish 6 or 7 or a low as 10th. I'ts all predicated on us winning tomorrow, needing help from Framingham, then some luck with a coin toss against Arlington. Yikes. Lots of different scenarios.

AB- Yes indeed many teams could be subjected to a coin toss on Saturday!
I think AP is going to have a tough time with Winchester (I have not seen them play but I have seen Winchester twice). Winchester is playing some real good hockey right now and is peaking at the right time of the year & Woburn looks to be backing into this tournament (sorry sportsdad) and may not have the guns/horses to go deep into the tournament. Good luck to you.

I know the main goal is to win the trophy but for alot of coaches and teams just making the Garden ice would be a nice thing. Teams like Hingham, AB and Arlington are all hoping to catch the side with Lexington on for that's their best chance. Witness 2 Hingham losses to SMH and Hinghams tie with Lexington on their home ice. That said things aren't looking so good for Hingham for their almost a sure bet to be on SMH's side. Maybe a 3rd time will be a charm for Hingham. Anyways I'm hoping for a SMH - Lexington final to fill in the void of that 1 game that was missing this year. Seeing it was too much of a distraction for Lexington to play SMH due to the SMH coach teaching at Lexington will they play the final game or will Lexington be forced to forfeit?

    Re: EMASS Girls Hockey 2009-2010

Okay, there is alot going on and I and not going to try and confuse you.  1-3 seeds  are set in stone assuming no major upsets.  Spring played Bev today in a HUGE game regarding seeds.  If Spring lost, Hingham is 4.  Bev has Lynn left as well.  1-1, 0-1-1 or 0-2 most likely allow Framingham to jump them esp. if Fram beats Braintree.  Braintree is the 6 seed and has a bye as of now.  IF AP GETS IN, THEY PLAY THE 6 SEED.  Arlington is done and will only move based on what other teams do.  AB has to beat Woburn and have Braintree lose.

    PLEASE NOTE
The projections I have do not take into account teams with the same winning percentage.  MIAA flips a coin to seed same win perc. teams.  So I think 22-24 have the same winning percent.  they could land anywhere b/w 22-24.  As someone mentioned if AB wins, they will have same win percentage as Arl.  If Fram beats Braintree, they will have same win perc.

    http://www.bracketmaker.com/tmenu.cfm?tid=350209&tclass=updated%2002%2D16%2D10

tell me this isn't fun!  If anyone knows the Spring v Bev score please speak up.

Are you kidding me. We've been screwed by Shrewsbury. Their not even in the top twenty and they get the third seed. Hingham plays everybody and what does it get them another game with those Saints and that darn #18. Hiphop was right they need someone to seed these tourneys. If seeded Hingham would have been either 2nd or 3rd and Lexington would have to at least earn their way to the garden. I'm freaking furious.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Springfield beat Bev 6-1.  Springfield finishes with a .868 win percentage.  If Hingham wins tomorrow they will have a .841 win percentage so 1-5 are locked.  Braintree wins tomorrow they are .825 and if AB wins .800 along with Arlington.

    Beverly wins last game - .750, tie - .725 and lose - .700.

    Framingham win - .775, tie - .750 and lose - .725

Only Beverly can slip far back with a lose as Lynn and Barnstable can jump them if those teams win their last game.

Framingham even with a lose can not finish lower than 10.

Tomorrow I will look at the bottom seeds as them fight for seeds as well.

Beverly needs to STEP it up now when they need to... but cant seem to get out of their own way the last 3 games. Need to come to play in the first and second not just the third.  Friday game against Lynn...well who knows?? Should all be interesting.
