Apparently he might not be going to college. Read this story. Newton North standout guard Corey Lowe is back searching for a school after being released by Providence from his letter-of-intent.
--> Lowe, who committed to the Friars about a year ago, decided to mutually part ways after Providence signed a pair of other shooting guards in the same class.
--> ôThe coaching staff and me were heading in different directions,ö the 6-foot-1 combo guard said. ôWe had different plans and it was best for me to get out of the letter-of-intent.ö
--> Lowe, who averaged 18.5 points and seven assists per game as a senior this past season and has a 3.2 GPA, said there already has been preliminary contact from UMass, Rhode Island, Boston University and Duquesne.
--> ôI donÆt want to rush into a decision,ö he said. ôIÆll either wait until the summer and choose a school or go to prep school and see what happens.ö
--> Lowe played the last 10 games with a fractured bone in his right hand and wrist. He had surgery after the season and is in a cast for another week or two.
--> ôIf anyone is ready to step in and play in the Big East, itÆs Corey,ö Newton North coach Paul Connolly said. ôHe did a great job for us and thereÆs no question heÆs a Division 1 (college) player.ö
