Midway through the second quarter the Patriots were ahead 24 to 7, having sc ored 24 unanswered points. Smiles on our faces, cold beers in our bellys, and the surreal thought entered our heads... "hey maybe we can get home field advantage, after all!"...... then you remembered "this is the Colts, that's Peyton Manning, there is another half left." And there was... and this is... unfortunately, Peyton Manning's League. When you have a 17 game winning streak, you get beneficial calls, especially at home, especially if you are behind. The Colts got the calls, and deep down, we all knew there would be bad calls against the Patriots. A couple of years ago, the Patriots got the calls. Tough pill to swallow, but it's true.
I think Belichick knew it too. Punt, and they would just call another deep phantom interference call, on the next possession.
I just hate that when I flip by the NFL Channel someday soon, I'll see "The 4th & 2 Game" advertised for NFL REPLAY.
