how about the CARDINALS first pick for ryan mallet and logan mankins. They obviously need a QB and o-line help.

 

No harm in dreaming I guess. Mallett won't fetch a 1, let alone the first overall. Mankins is on the downside, two or three years left, maybe, and with a massive contract.  He's untradeable and not very desirable.

I don't see it because they don't have a 2nd this year and either their 3rd or 2nd next year. Mankins and Mallett aren't worth the #1 pick and considering the Pats want a 2nd for Malllett I don't think they'd take a 3rd for Malllett and Mankins

That one with our 1st, not our 2nd, seems reasonable but who would you take at #7? Then you have to replace Mankins. I'd have to see the total package, including what you do with the extra cap space and who you replace Mankins and Mallett with before doing it. If it's to draft a G at #7 and the difference between paying #7 and Mankins is use t replace Mallett then you didn't really gain anything but essentially gave a pick away for free. That becomes a  for 1 deal and those rarely work out for the 1 team unless they get a superstar back in return
