[QUOTE]Let us continually give our thanks to Norv Turner for giving the New England Patriots the draft pick for nose tackle Ron Brace, Big Brace, described in one draft report as a human avalanche.  Nobody is going to run up the middle against the Patriots for quite a while. In return, BB gave Norv a third rounder last year, and Norv took Devin Hester, a fullback.  Devin Hester got his second carry in week six, against the Patriots, where he then fumbled the football.   Hester finished the 2008 season with 19 carries.  Not too bad.  Not good!  Maybe he'll get a little better this year.  Enjoy your third rounder. Norv just assumed his Chargers would go 16-0, so trading out a second rounder wouldn't hurt too bad.  The Chargers then went 8-8.  Sweet! Other than this, New England doesn't play San Diego in the regular season.  Why should I watch how good some random team is if we're not playing them?

FYI Devin Hester is on the Chicago Bears.

FYI this is the same drivvle you try and sell us every offseason and then every year your team continues to not win championships. So excuse us if none of are shaking in our boots.

    FYI you're missing the point.
    jacob hester, devin hester, whatever.
the question is 1. did someone named hester, a third round pick, fumble on his second carry from scrimmage or did he not?  and 2. Did NT get sodomized on that trade or did he not?

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: 2009 version of the San Diego Chargers : What? You are the classic homer, my friend. Look at any of the power rankings. the pats and stealers are 1 and 2, the best i've seen the bolts is at 7. same in las vegas.  't come whining to us about injuries, we've had more than our share. in case you hadn't noticed we went 11-5 leat year without the MVP.  but,  more importantly, when's the last time SD won a playoff game? when's the last time SD won ANY MEANINGFUL GAME AGAINST THE PATS? That would be never. Your team might look OK, not great, OK, on paper and have some potential to actually do something this year besides underachieve, but,  as Yogi said, "all potential means is that you haven't done sh*t yet".  SD has a long road ahead of them before they even be mentioned in the same sentence as the superbowl bound NE Patriots! believe it!

How can the Steelers be both #3 and #5 back in 2005? But whatever the preseason ranking, SD has NEVER won a SB! But, if they ever do you will be able to say you predicted it!!!

    Weren't the Chargers ranked # 17 back in 1998?

    Nope, didn't win then, either.

As A Patriots fan staioned in San Diego, I have been able to personally see the Chargers and their management team in action.  So much so, that not long ago, it was easy to go see this "loved" team because there were so many open seats as no one was going.  Now, even with a playoff team, local companies and Indian casinos have to buy up the last tickets...I guess they'll kick your daughter's dog but won't go a little further to go to the game.  Every year, they say they are a SB caliber team, close to winning it all but the management does NOTHING to get better in the off season.  Not one free agent signing of note.  They stand pat and think they're smarter than anyone.  They had a chance to move forward and what did they do, they dumped Marty AFTER all the other vacancies started to get filled...pathetic, just like the lack of uproar on the possibility of the team leaving.  Sounds like they have already left.

My point was that it doesn't seem to matter how low or how high you rank the Chargers, they will still fail. Miserably.

What was your point about a three-time SB championship team losing a fourth?

It does make me wonder which teams that have won SBs are actually undefeated in SBs. You may want to drop out of the conversation at this point due to lack of experience. The only ones I can think of offhand are San Fran and NYJ. I would count the Indianapolis Colts in there, too, but too many Colts fans tend to think the Baltimore years count.

To their credit, the game times do tend to interfere with their brunches. I can see how one might not want to go if they can't eat their fruit bowl while listening to Yanni.

[QUOTE]In Response to 2009 version of the San Diego Chargers :      The Bolts are a good team in a weak division. But, I can't see them beating the Steelers or the Pats. They have the Norv factor, need to improve their OL, need to improve their pass-rush (which the additions of Merriman and English should do), and need to replace the overated LT..      Their only chance is if they can take advantage of their weak division, and gain home field advantage throughout the playoffs. In addition, their defense must become dominant. This could happen if Merriman is 100%, English pans out, Cromartie bounces back, and tackles Williams, and Luis Castillo, stay healthy.

Concerning PIT- Big Ben is getting suspended and even if he doesn't, they can still be knocked off in JAN.
    Concerning NE-
Left Cornerback24 Jonathan Wilhite29 Shawn Springs27 Darius Butler
    38 Jamar Love
Right Cornerback23 Leigh Bodden22 Terrence Wheatley35 Mike Richardson
Strong Safety31 Brandon Meriweather28 Antwain Spann26 Tank Williams
    25 Patrick Chung
Free Safety36 James Sanders43 Brandon McGowan
    41 Ray Ventrone
is the biggest reason NE will fall short this year.

I guess you did not become a Chargers' fan until  January 15, 2007.  Otherwise you would not be calling another team choke artists.  Just in case you have not heard of the game played on January 14, the Chargers choked away a lead in the divisional playoff game to none other than the New England Patriots, some of whom mockingly did the Shawne Merriman sack dance on the Chargers' logo after the game.  This was one of the greatest games I have ever seen.  I think you can see highlights of the game on the NFL website.  Maybe you should have a look before calling another team choke artists.
