I'm going to miss what ever happens from 7:15 to 9:15 which is probably all of 2nd and beginning of 3rd, have to attend an award ceremony my son is participating in.

Will be checking here for updates if I cannot get NFL live broadcast on my cell.  Keep it coming, I need the updates.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: 2011 Patriots Draft Options ***IT'S GO TIME!*** : A hunch, I think Kapernick fits so well with Wash's type O that's too difficult to see Mike S. pass him up.  I think in 5 years he's got a shot to be the best or 2nd best QB of this draft behind only Gabbert.

I would agree with this, and I feel similar about Dalton as well.

I don't know if you guys are watching NFL Network about now, but again, they were reporting Uncle Al really wants pick 33...here we go...Raiders don't have a 2nd, so it would most likely be their 2012 1st + their 3rd.

Re: 2011 Patriots Draft Options ***IT'S GO TIME!***

What I don't get is why can't we do a little Jets mentality when we have the ammo once every couple years? We have a ton of picks and these players make for a good all around team but you need some type of impact players eventually. Most agree that we're very close so why can't we take a page from the Jets and trade up and take a shot on 1 or 2 impact players and take the safe picks later?

I don't want to do the Jets draft every year but you have to admit doing it once every 5 years or so only getting a couple impact players (2-3) and a couple of projects and still trade a couple picks into next year would have been nice this year. You won't get an extra 1st or 2nd next year but an extra 3rd or 4th and then rebuild your stock again so in a couple years you can do it again and get a couple more impact players.

But as it looks maybe Oak is going to trade. I'd be happy to get their2nd this year and 1st next year other then that they appear like a team in a weak division that has a shot to make the playoffs. I'd rather try to work something out with a Was or Cinn even if it's #33 for a 1st next year straight up. I think it would be a top 10 which is much more value then a mid 2nd this year and a pick potentially in the 17-25 range

Maybe he can be another McCourty and not a Butler and we can move Bodden to FS?

Not a total shock but a shock given his injured past.  If healthy, we will have a solid defensive back field.  Dowling would have been a first if not hurt most of last year.

I like Dowling .... but still no pass rush.

Bill needs to parlay some picks to move up in this round to get the edge rusher.

Agree, this is a big physical CB.  Needs to get stronger in legs to help keep him healthy but you now have to big cover CBs and a Vet CB who can move to FS and be a ball hawk.

    Secondary looking really good.

    Pass rush is coming soon.

Did we really need a CB? What is going on here!  McCourty and Bodden would be a great duo.  If they are willing to gamble on a injury prone CB, why not take a chance on Daquan Bowers, who is a top5  talent.
