I could could care less about the regular season. Somebody call me when they stop gagging in the postseason. Now I know what it's like to be a Chargers fan.

It's hard to win when you have guys on your team (like Gronk) that don't mind losing.

F this team.

why would peyton come to the jets?  he would have no WR's besides crybaby holmes, his OL is terrible, his run game is againg and non existant, he would get no money due to you guys being over the cap, and he would have to play brady 2x a year and be forced to go for the wild card year in year out.

he's probably going to SF where it is warmer, dome, great WR, great TE, great run game, great D, great coach....
they can have peyton.  he will not be the same qb physically on his first year back. the possibility of being incapacitated with one freak hit will be in his mind.  in the end though one year off qb work is a lot to come back from for a 35 yr old. he will never be the same. he'll be half a second slower. his long ball will be 5-10 yards shorter, etc. it will take him half the season to realize what he can never do anymore, another half season to figure out how to adjust to a different game

By this logic Patriot fans are more intelligent then Rex Ryan. At least we got the Super Bowl part right.

Why do you think you'll get Peyton Manning when the Jets are currently right up or just a little over the cap? You'll either have to restructure (short term gain-long term pain), or release some players (so who's going to get released). Plus who knows if Manning will even come back and if he does is he a shell of his former self.

Here's some information for you so you can try and make a real logical decision and not base everything on emotion.

Posted by seattlepat70
Gronk and Brady will be back healthy way before August, let alone Sept.

Predicting wins and losses now for 2012-13 is like predicting the weather a year out, all guess work.

Some factors to consider, some of the tougher games like Hou and SF will be in NE.  The Jets are in disarray.  Manning will not play for the Zoo that is the Jets. If they pick themselves off the matt (which they can) it won't be with Peyton. AZ had better hope it's an early season game, the last time the came to the 'Bro it was ugly.

Should be an interesting year.  Going on the assumption that they upgrade in 3 spots (6-1"+ WR that can run deep outs, 6.0"+ CB that can man up and a veteran safety) and stick with the 4-3 and don't suffer any health issues than it is a very safe predicition to go with 12-4 with likely upside all the way to 14-2.  I see the following likely losses next year:  Ravens (away); Jets (away); Texans (home) although the Texans is a tough one since they barely lose at home.   When you study it they really have a cream-puff schedule next year. With a weak AFC, (Steelers & Ravens = old; Jets = crazy; Broncos = Tebow sucks) you have to like their chances to get back to the SB for another shot. Only three things in thier way from my vantage point:
1.  If Peyton Manning goes to the Dolphins
2.  If they suffer a major injury to a star player
3.  If the Texans stay healthy (they are the team to beat next year)

History shows us anytime QB misses an entire year he will struggle his 1st year back. Not much evaluation needed.

Without checking I am sure Brady had the best come back year ever for a QB, but he was 4 years younger then PM.

tb's injury had no effect on his throwing motion. he was pretty immobile to start with. during his recovery, he still could do things to maintain arm strength.

manning's health issue was such that he probably could not throw for a full year. that arm is very limp right now.

13-3

SF at home
at BAL
at NYJ

those are the only games that worry me.  We'll probably win one of those but have a let down against another team that we should beat.  HOU doesn't scare me.  They have cap troubles and are going to have to cut some people.  I actually don't worry much about the Jets either.  They will decline as they too have cap problems and will lose some people and without a decent QB, they can't go far.

I can't believe we went 13-3 this year with the 2nd worst defense.  We had the softest schedule and got lucky to have BAL at home with their road struggles.  We were one play, one bad bounce away from winning it all and we should be better next year with our cap space and draft picks.

Absolutely disagree with you here Seattle. When your plant leg has a shattered knee you are effected both physically and psychologically for at least the next year, the latter probably a bit longer which nay be why Brady has not thrown the deep ball as well as he did pre injury.

i agree with you on the psychological. physical aspect is debatable. welker can run well now. no reason to think that tb's was less successful. of course tb did not know that then, so in his mind he was not 100%.

what cannot be debated is that manning's issue has far more negative effect on that arm's motion. that arm has not made a serious throw in almost a year. i don't know how old you are, but if you've crossed 35, you understand that the body just changes, and even when effort, does not just change back like before.
