In response to Rocky's comment:
Do you guys have any guesses why the Patriots might receive? The only loss that really did anything with their new team was BJGE. Carter was a huge disappointment for the Bills! But on the other hand Lloyd came to the Patriots and had a good season.
It will be interesting to see what happens!
2012 Offseason Additions:
RB Joseph Addai, FB Tony Fiammetta, WR Brandon Lloyd, WR Jabar Gaffney, WR Dont'e Stallworth, G Robert Gallery, DE/DT Jonathan Fanene, DE/OLB Trevor Scott, OLB Bobby Carpenter, CB Will Allen, CB Marquice Cole, S Steve Gregory.
2012 Offseason Losses:
RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis, WR Chad Ochocinco, OT Matt Light, DE Andre Carter, DE Mark Anderson, OLB Gary Guyton, CB Antwaun Molden, S James Ihedigbo
Rocky, good stuff as always. I posted the following article (below link) a while ago. It doesn't talk about the Pats in detail but gives an NFL team projections. I am not sure how accurate.
From another forum credit to "dabruinz":
Re: Compensation Picks?? CTPatsfan is correct. The biggest determining factor is the number of qualified FA signed versus the number of qualified FAs lost.
To be qualified, the player's previous contract had to have ended and not been terminated prematurely. They also have to have been signed prior to the cutdowns and have to have survived the cutdowns.
The Pats signed a TON of qualified free agents this year, though only 2 will end up counting against the Pats. And that is Lloyd and Gregory.
Anthony Gonzalez (cut before camp)
Joseph Addai (cut prior to camp)
Joseph Fanene (cut in camp, contract is being challenged by Patriots)
Robert Gallery (retired in camp)
Spencer Larsen (IRed)
Tony Fiametta (Roster Exemption)
Will Allen (IRed)
Jabar Gaffney (cut)
Donte Stallworth (cut)
The Pats only lost 2 qualified free agents in BJGE and Mark Anderson. Andre Carter would have counted if he'd signed with the Raiders prior to the cutdowns in training camp.
(I apologize in advance if I missed some of the guys)
