I know it was his first game back from surgery but I wasn't overly impressed with Lattimore last night. He's good, don't get me wrong but something about his cuts and running style

Not really a quick twitch type kid or overly explosive, but at 6-0 220, he's a north/south banger with good vision, power and balance that can catch the football and looks to give solid effort in pass pro... kid has 3 down potential at the NFL level, which I think is very appealing.

Re: ***2013 Patriots Draft Thread V2***

    Player Profile:

    DE/OLB- Dion Jordan- 6-6 243- Oregon

    Positives:
    *Elite height/length
    *Very good athlete
    *Quick off the snap
*Very good fluidity and movement skills
    *Gives a very good effort
*Active and is around the ball a lot
*Good instincts / heads up player
    *Huge upside, IMO
*Please primarily out of a two point stance
    *Has coverage responsibilities (including slot)
*Active hands and can bend the edge

    Negatives:
*Doesn't look thin (listed at 243, I think he's prob closer to 250), but will need to add weight if he's gonna play on the edge in NE's scheme.
*Can have trouble disengaging vs. the run at times.
*Will need to develop a pass rush repetoire as a lot of times he's simple able to jolt/rip or run around guys.

    Projection:
Not yet a househould name, but after watching this kid on film, I came away extremely impressed (kid is an absolute freak) and If he progresses, I don't see how he's NOT a 1st round pick (maybe top 15-20) come April... we're talking about a kid with elite length, a huge motore and excellent athleticism... this kid is exactly what NE looks for in it's hybrid edge players (assuming he ends up around 255-260) and would look awesome across from Chandler long term.

The guy I'm really watching is Jadeveon Clowney. He's only a sophmore but IMO this guy is going to be a tremendous football player in college and in the NFL for years.

On the topic of stud soph's, also keep an eye on ND DE Stephon Tuitt (6-5 303)... could be the next great 34 DE, kid's a manchild.

i thought he was slow. even that long run he made from inside their 20, it thought it was about poor tackling. it was almost funny how he got away from those tackles. i will keep watching him though. i thought he was good last year. i am hoping it was more because it's the first game.

two kids that caught my eye on the byu v wazzu game last night...

wazzu's kicker - the problem is i don't remember if it was #46 or #49. the kid's long is 51. he did a 40+ last night and it was way over the crossbar

byu's te -- kaneakuwa friel, 6'5" 250. good hands, decent route runner. decent at blocking although he did not block much
