Re: ***2013 Patriots Draft Thread V2***

    Interesting report:

Appearing on the Rich Eisen Podcast, NFL Films' Greg Cosell suggested Jonathan Cyprien of Florida International has a strong case to be the first safety selected in April's draft.

"This kid is  really athletic," said Cosell. "When I watched him, I couldn't believe that he was 220 pounds and the way he moved. He had an interception against Louisville that was just unbelievable. He came from the middle of the field all the way to the sideline. For a second, it looked like Ed Reed. I don't think he'll be the first safety drafted, but I wouldn't have a problem if he was the first safety drafted." We expect Cyprien's draft window to begin at No. 18 with the Cowboys. The Rams at No. 22 could also be in play.     Source:  NFL.comMar 27 - 2:42 PM

If the report is true and he's similar to Reed and we know how much BB loved Reed, would BB make a play for the kid in the 1st and move McCourty to SS on passing downs and CB on running downs?

Yeah, Rodgers is a good pick at 59.  I'd have given the edge to Stedmon Bailey, but just barely.  Either one would be great.

I like Rogers in Rd 2 or 3, but if they pass on Stedman Bailey with this pick (assuming they don't touch a WR in Rd 1) I'm gonna have to call the local TV repair man to pull my buddy, his beer and anything else within reach, out of my Samsung plasma.

+1 lets hope BB feels the same, but the kid has everything BB looks for in a WR if he matured of course

I guess the Bailey/Rogers debate comes down to personal preference.

Bailey - Seems like a Branch in the 01-05' years whch makes me see why you guys like im so much

Rogers - To me seems like an Ocho in his prime but smarter and shouldn't have issues picking up this O. Actually Rogers would be slightly bigger, quicker, and a better blocker then Ocho, something we've never had with Brady which gets me excited over the prospect of seeing Bray with an actualy Z Flanker that can work all three parts of the field

Def agree that it's a preference thing, like I said, I like Rogers, but it's gonna be a tough conversation 10-15 years from now when I have to explain to my sons Randall and Stedman that their namesakes never played for New England.
