as a team that tends to struggle on the road, next year will certainly be a challenge. KC, SD, GB, Indy & Min are all good home teams and all pose real threat for losses

Hopefully pats re-load in offseason, stay a whole lot healthier next season, and they'll be fine.

Most of this is scheduled years in advance, the only questions are the two teams from your conference that end up in the same position as you. Pats get Denver and Indy next year because of this.

We only struggled this year because we were decimated by injuries, hopefully we're better off next season.

Actually the Pats get Cincy and Indy because of this. Pats get AFC west so Denver was automatic, otherwise correct.

I'll take 12-4 right now, Muz, without hesitation.  Yep, not the easiest of schedules but then again, they are the NE Patriots.

Could someone explain to me how the schedule is made? I know the first seed plays with the second in the AFC.

You are correct. We have a group that goes to an away game every year. There are some great choices next season. San Diego, Green Bay, and KC seem to be the top 3 possibilities, depending on the schedule.

    [/QUOTE]

The schedule rotates through each of the divisions in your own conference and the other conference. So every 3 years the AFC East plays either the AFC North, AFC South or AFC West with 2 of those games at home and 2 on the road. Every 4 years, the AFC East also plays either the NFC East, NFC North, NFC South or NFC West with 2 of those games at home and 2 on the road. That accounts for 8 games per year, plus you have 6 division games (Jets, Fins and Bills) per year, so that is 14. The other two games are against the teams in your conference who had the same position in the division as you did, not including the division you are already scheduled to play. Next year the Pats play the AFC West and NFC North, 6 division games, and then get Cincy and Indy because they finished first in their divisions.

... and there are still folks who look at the Pats and, it seems, year in and year out say they have a cupcake schedule.  Here we are, 1/1/2014, and we already know who they will play this upcoming season.  Pats have NO control over who they play nor how good or how bad that team will be next season.

If Talib stays and the rest of the D gets back to health, they'd be well-equipped to handle that schedule.
