In Response to Re: 3-0 Ravens....Here Comes The Pain : I agree with you 100% that the 'Cheater' tag given to the Patriots has been blown way out of proportion!  It seems like that's the only thing some people can come up with after they start to lose a debate on this site. Baltimore has a good team, but we're only 3 games into the season. I remember last year when the Cowboys,Giants,Eagles & Redskins started out the season with a bang, and all the experts were proclaiming how great this division was.  They all faded as the year went on.  I was glad to see that many of the Patriot fans quickly corrected the one-poster who claimed Ray Lewis was over-rated. Just shows me that alot of the Patriot fans know a football player when they see one.
In Response to Re: 3-0 Ravens....Here Comes The fail : Hey Chowder Head - Seems to me when you compare both schedules, looks like the Ravens have better competition from teams that will compete and possibly contend. Granted we play the Bowns twice...but then you also play Buffalo twice (almost lost to them the first outing!), you also play Miami twice, and the Jets twice. Now I guess the Jets are a super elite team cuz they wipped that azz?? I think not. The Jets are playing a bit over their heads right now with their rookie QB, but he will fail miserably against better competition. The Titans are a team in turmoil so that game is not even a big win, and one they (the Jets) barely won. We have GB Packers, Chicago, Pittsburgh (twice and they will be back, as even a Chowder Head like you knows) as wel as Denver and Indy. If that is a light schedule than the Boston Harbor is clean!!! Nice Try! The Pain Is Still Coming!!!! Hell after the Jets game, all you Chowder Heads were about to abandon your team. What a bunch of smug NE cry babies. Thank God you are stuck up north...were you belong! The Pain Is Still Coming....!
Posted by pete21784
Pete, what the hell was Joe Flacco last season? A rookie, and NEers have a short memory? The Jets are just a better version of that 2008 team. They are younger and faster. The Ravens became an old defense over night. You keep talking about a hard schedule that the Ravens have because they play GB and Chicago (GB is overrated by the way, and they will get the win.) Pittsburgh (who always beats you guys. I believe the record against last year was 0-3. The Steelers killed your RB in the AFCC) and two teams we also play in Indy and Denver. So what? The Pats still have a tougher schedule. We play NO, Indy, Denver, and The Jets twice. Say what you want, but the Jets have a better defense. They have better DBs, and faster LBs. The Dolphins aren't a bad team either, they just have the toughest schedule in the league. NE has the second toughest. You better pray Wes Welker is inactive. Or Brady and Taylor are going to spell respect with Touchdowns. Brady is getting back to form. He can still throw the long ball. Galloway will redeem himself. You guys are luck that our star LB is out for this game; he'll be back soon. He's already walking without crotches. When he comes back the Pats defense will be a shutdown unit. Teams can keep saying NE is done and they cheated, but we are going to win the Superbowl this year. Then what will the critic say?

Shawn Springs will shutdown Derrick Mason.
Leigh Bodden will shut down the left side.
We've faced the best TE in the history of the NFL, and we shut him down. I think we can handle Todd Heap (of Sh*t)                                                             We've faced better RBs than Willis McGahee this season. (Thomas Jones, Turner, and an incendiary Fred Jackson.
The Ravens' blitz happy defense will be a good test for the Jets Defense. They are a slower, older version of them. Watch for Taylor and Morris to run the ball, and Brady will pick apart that defense when you stop blitzing.

Ravens are 3-0 and the Pats first four opponents are 9-3. Ravens first three opponents are 2-7 and the Ravens first four opponents are 4-8. Atalnta looked great beating two teams that are a combined 0-6 and then the Pats played very average and dominated the Falcons.

Pats have 4 SB appearances this decade to the scavenger birds one.  That is where the real pain is at.

Thought going into last week the Ravens defense hasn't been all that great, but then you figure last weekend was pretty much a scrimmage against the Browns (this year's 0-16 contender)

Sorry, but the Ravens are a much different team than in 2007, New Head Coach, New Offensive cordinator, new QB, etc.... It will be a tough game.  But if you Patriot fans believe that this game will only be decided by how the pats O does against the ravens D, your very wrong.  The ravens O is very balanced and strong, it will be a great game.

49 Chowder Heads - You may be right. Come to mention it, I did see Pro Bowler DE/Linebacker Suggs using a cane....and Pro Bowler Ray Lewis was on crutches... and Pro Bowler Ed Reed using a walker....lol. Talk about old, didn't you guys have Junior Seau, who even older, so to speak, but who came up big, game after game??? Age isn't as much of a factor for these guys as it was ten years ago when players were approaching similar age brackets. The difference is very negligible. Our running backs will pound it down your throats....all day long. Not the same McGahee you faced in Buffalo. Ray Rice will create havoc and Le Ron McClain will continually gain those hard fought 3-5 inside yards. Oh, the other "old man", Mason will surely burn your secondary, as he does to every team he plays against. So watch closely as our retirement team whips up on your Patriot azz this weekend...in front of your hometown Chowder Head crowd. How embarrasing it will be to lose to this pension fund team....Here Comes The Pain!

Baltimore is a city full of scumbaags.

2007 Data

Rates are based on cases per 100,000 for all of calendar 2007.

Violent crime Boston 1,155
Violent crime Baltimore 1,631 (29% greater; Stabby Ray-Ray is very busy)
Murder and manslaughter Boston 11
Murder and manslaughter Baltimore 45 (74% greater; Stabby Ray-Ray knows how to finish)
Robbery Boston 379
Robbery Baltimore 560
Burglary Boston 644
Burglary Baltimore 1,182
Motor vehicle theft Boston 578
Motor vehicle theft Baltimore 932
There are also lots of articles on how the wealthy are leaving MD in droves because they don't want to pay their taxes - d'oh!

Looks like Baltimore is a pretty shhitty place to live to me.

Oh and one more.
Murderous Patriots football players 0
Murderous Ravens players 1 (Ray-Ray "Stabby" Lewis)

I guess the only way Baltimore brings the "pain" is if their scummy fans show up or Ray-Ray directs limo traffic on the way out of the stadium with his friend's (yeah right!) knife.

So someone ELSE crosses the line!  Doesn't mean you should just to get even!  Keep your head and discuss football and make your points.  There are always "chowder heads" on every team site, doesn't mean you lower yourself to that level.  On this site there are many great fans who make great posts and keep it to football without resorting to insults or drumming up some issue that has no bearing on the topic, IE - "cheating".

On another note, I live in MD, I was here when the Browns franchise moved to Baltimore and by fan selection was given the name Ravens.  The players were all Browns one year and Ravens the next.  To use the term it was an expansion team is using that term loosely.  If the Ravens organization started from scratch and won a SB 4 years into their franchise history, that would truly be a remarkable accomplishment.  So, please, don't stretch the truth about the way the Ravens were able to win in just 4 years.

....and they call Baltimore..."Charm City"......oh well, one more test for the Patriots to pass in the season long quest to get to the playoffs....and when the game ends, waving farewell to the Ravens and their fans, we shall sing our own version of "Bye Bye Blackbird:"

No one here loves nor can they stand you
Oh, what hard luck story you just went through
Make your bed and turn off the light
'cause you'll have nightmares tonight

Blackbird, bye bye

Re: 3-0 Ravens....Here Comes The Pain

Belenus...  there are some areas of "Charm City" that will scare the **** out of ya!  I know a lot of GREAT Ravens fans, three of which are my children, who essentially grew up in Maryland after I moved down here from NE. They are as vociferous about their team as Pats fans.  Why not be excited, they are off to a great start...  We like our team too!!  (-;
