    Aaron Hernandez first 3 games

This 4th rounder just might be the find of the draft, along with Gronk we have two great TEs for the future

Aaron Hernandez FIRST three games…………………….13 receptions / 211 yards
Ben Watson’s BEST three consecutive games………….16 receptions / 209 yards
Daniel Graham’s BEST three consecutive games………12 receptions / 173 yards

Agree 100%. They both pose match-up problems and you can line up AH at WR or HB(see Dallas Clark)  and put Moss deep and Welker in the slot (LETHAL. you can't cover all three). In the mean time Crumpler continues his beastly blocking ways and Gronk becomes an end zone threat. Pretty happy about this Offense, right now.

The guy should be on the field as much as Moss and Welker. Period. Early ROY of the candidate.

Re: Aaron Hernandez first 3 games

Last year we picked up an upper 1st round talent in Vollmer; albeit in the 2nd round.  If Hernandez continues to play like this he would easily have been picked by some team in the 1st round (applying league hindsight).  I not only like the way he catches, but how he runs after the catch.  Hernandez, Welker, and Edelman are all elusive.

BB's trading out of draft picks has turned out to be a work of genius.  Sure, we might have missed out on one or two very good players, but look at how many promising young players we have now.  To put the cherry on top, for two years in a row we likely picked 1st round talent anyway.

He is indeed a fine pass catcher and playmaker. He will never be the beast of a blocker that Graham was in his prime. Comparing apples and oranges there. But Gronk can block, and Crumpler's a damn force.

He's great after the catch and can reallly get open. The combination of him and Gronk are going to be amazing.

I just checked NFL.com's stat page and he's ranked 18th overall in receiving yards so far. That's just ahead of Dallas Clark.

Is Hernandez a keeper or what!!!

I remember pre-season when it was all Gronkowski all the time, but if he hadn't had the camp he had everyone would have been talking up Hernandez.

That end around on Sunday was awesome.  And great hands.  I'm glad he's getting his due recognition.  I believe Tom B. will grow to love this guy and use him for all he's worth.  A great addition, and kudos for picking him.

What an upside for this kid.

What you guys don't seem to understand is that you can't possibly be right in your assessment.  Don't you understand?? BB is horrible in the draft; his trading down and maneuvering will bring about the end of New England civilization.  All of this Hernandez this and Gronk that.  None of that matters.  Those long gainers by Hernandez - pffffft.  Matchup problems re: Gronk in the end zone - meaningless.  The sky fell and you guys just don't know it. (Irony ends here)

Hernandez and Gronk are both matchup nightmares for opposing D.  Crumpler is a total beast of a blocker and can run routes and catch as well.

Call me a koolaid drinker if you will, BB's the best thing that ever happen4d to Pats coaching and personnel management and is among the best to ever coach the game.

Nice to read an accurate thread and as importantly not a negative comment in reply. O.K. so where are the Pioli genius v Bellichick numbskull drafting advocates?
Can only smile when I speculate at what the reviews of these two T/E's will be in a short space of time.

The fear with Hernandez is that he'd be a chronic head or worse.  So, Robert Kraft essentially made a million-dollar bet with Hernandez that he can stay off drugs.  Most of Hernandez's salary is now predicated on him staying clean.

Good deal!  I think for enough millions, many people would lay off the herb for a few years.  Kraft loses a million extra bucks and gains a 245 pound wideout that no defensive back wants to see coming.  Hernandez can keep the cash, he's worth it.

Too bad 31 other teams couldn't figure out this solution.

Just out of curiosity, do you have any numbers on Ben Coates?  IMHO, the last TE who was used as an offensive weapon was Coates. The rest have been glorified blockers.

He's the second coming of Kellen Winslow Sr.  Too fast to be covered by a LB and too big for a safety.  He looks like he did in college.  His game translates perfectly.  A bit like Dallas Clark, but not as big and a bit quicker.  Only comp I can come up with is Winslow, who wasn't really a tight end and wasn't a split end, and was impossible to defend.

another thing that makes him so impressive is the fact that he probably doesnt know the entire playbook yet thats why he isnt used as often. when this kid knows the playbook and builds more trust in brady with timing routes he is going to be even more amazing than he looks already. love gronk in the red zone, huge kid with soft hands, and athletic, we got us some solid tight ends for the future!! imagine how good a running back like mark ingram would look in our offense next year? wow.

Watched him when he was at Florida and he was great. Thank the lord he smoked that weed or the Pats would never have gotten him in the 4th round. And you know what, all the owners smoked weed when they were in college, so who cares?
Imagine if they did not draft the guys who drank alcohol?  The only guy who would have gotten drafted would be Tim Tebow.  It would be a 5 minute draft instead  of 2-3 days.

I believe when they changed the holding rules, he wasn't able to get open any more.  He went to the Ravens and did nothing.  Not that he wasn't good, just maybe couldn't play at that point under a no grab system.
