    Abraham retiring

Had some friends tell me Abraham tweeted he is retiring. Offers simply not good enough to play this year. He is of course negotiating, but seems if the offers dont improve, he is thinking about it.

Wow.  Could be a leverage move to get a team to up their offer.  If he's serious, I feel like it's kind of a stubborn move.  3-4 million for a guy who was probably going to be a sub-rusher at the age of 35 is not bad money.

On the other hand, I just saw this online that states the tweets weren't anything serious but just simple frustration.  Seems kind of immature to me.

Well if he has a good pension plan in place, something that would pay him 500 to a million a year for doing nothing, why risk your body like that for 2-3 million?

I know we are talking one or two MILLION, but its all relvent. If you spent your career fixing power lines for $120,000 a year, and every day there was that chance for injury, and you can retire and pocket $60,000 to do NOTHING, then you seriously consider it.

I have some friends who told me he is going to wait till camp is over and sign on with a contending team as a pass rushing specialist.

RKrap has no friends.  Nothing to see here. Carry on.

lets see, half the board, especially YOU, was pining big time for this guy. YOU always point out how Pats do not want players who dont want to be here, regardless of salary. You have repeatedly said any player worth the Pats interest should be lucky the Pats have interest, and they should want to come here to WIN, blah, blah, blah. Now Abes tweets he is thinking of retiring.

now its a non story because you were wrong about the guy?

I'll believe it when it happens officially.  The fact that he deleted the tweets seems like evidence that he would still like to play this year and is just trying to get some more money.  Time will tell.

I agree he is negotiating...I see he just tweeting a few moments ago that he looks like he is signing with the Titans

Truthfully, I didnt want him to begin with. Enough with the older DLmen. Kelly, Armstead and now I assume Collins could be nice additions. I would have prefered a DT with #29 or trade up for a DT, but such is life as a Pats fan when BB is the GM.

I know you think based on last year Abraham still has gas left in the tank, and you may be correct. But I would like more than a 1 and done player at the end of the line...

To put it in context - what if you went in to work tomorrow and your boss said ... sorry, but we just don't think you are worth what you were making yesterday. So here is a new contract for 30% of the salary you used to make - you can sign it, or we really wish you well in whatever you do next. Have a nice day.

It takes a while to get your head around the reality of the market for a player like Abraham or Freeney. Nothing 'immature' about it and not that surprising they would find it frustrating.

    Correct.

But I would like more than a 1 and done player at the end of the line...

A legitimate concern although I'm hoping the development of some of our young guys (Jones in particular) might help alleviate that.  I liked him as as a stopgap in the short term.

if I had made $100 million in my 13 year career, I would say good bye, just like Abraham seemingly might...

Lets face it, the guy doesnt need the $$$, and at 35 years old, the 9 months is a hard grind.

If he is signing with the Titans, why did you start a thread saying he is retiring?

And don't ever say "truthfully" either. That should never be in your vocabulary because you're  a walking liar and fraud that everyone is onto at this point.

I took heat for saying "Tebow Cut" which he was, predictably so, and now you lie with your thread title, outright to create drama and try to lie to make it seem like you somehow won something here.

    You're a joke.

Start the thread that admits defeat with our bet and leave the board.

do you understand the cocept of dates on the caelnder? The guy tweeted Saturday he was retiring. I threw it out to the board. He tweeted today he wasnt, and seemingly would sign with the Titans...

can you tell me what I lied about? you lost a bet with me, that doesnt make me a liar. Own up for crying out loud or move along.

my concerns on BB's draft are a lot more docile than your trolling Brady every day.

You cannot backpedal now. Your thread title right here says "Abraham retiring".

This is now different when you had a thread title to draw attention saying "Jets wll be 30 million under the cap by the time FA opens".

You set yourself up like a bowling pin constantly because you don't think or don't do homework, but really, I think your main goal is to use this board to push your anti-BB agenda.

You know many people here were agreeing that Abraham would be a good fit in the 4-3, so you're now trying to call people out, including me.

However, anyone who knows my analysis on this, knows what I said above is what I said.

I am not one that ran around here all panicky when Abraham left without a contract, rememember?

Funny how I am the guy who is always talking people off the ledge here and then sneaks and liars like you and Mt Hurl try to squirm away.

    Leave the board.

yeah, me, Goodell, Mazz and Casserly all sat down and went over our anti-Rusty strategy 2 weeks ago. wow, what an arrogant dope

BTW, I did not say Abraham was retiring...ABRAHAM SAID HE WAS RETIRING ON SATURDAY!!!

That is not me telling a lie, that is Abraham changing his mind after he tweeted it.

And yes, I am calling out everyone who wanted a 35 year old 1 and done DE on the team. Especially you who made such a big deal not only of the PAts trying to get him, but made such a big deal out of players wanting money over winning...so YOU WERE WRONG AGAIN...why cant you admit it..

And no, you dont see me squirming away. Today I am saying loud and clear, you were wrong AGAIN!
