Sanches is not one of the worst QB's that is just fantalk as I call it. If you are talking honestly he is a typical young QB with a decent arm and no better then average accuracy which led to 20 INT's. The question is will he be smarter this year realising that he can't just throw it in there like he did in college or that sometimes a sack or throwing it away is a good thing in the scheme of things. I am leaning towards a sophmore slump tough year. But if he can weather it he will be a good QB come 2011. -

He's in the bottom 1/3, but I am not sure he's one of the worst (bottom 5) either
He had it really easy with no expectations after following Pennington, Clemens and Favre debacles, etc. He also had that running game which limited his throws and protected him in games.
2nd year QBs always regress too.
I have to chuckle at how cocky he is. He truly thinks he's leading his team to a Super Bowl this year. It's great to feel that and believe that, but to have a coach, a QB and players constantly acting entitled as a .500 team is just funny to me.
Unless they get 1500 yards out of Green and LT combined, Sanchez will have to do more and those 20 INts and a borderline 1:2 horrendous TD/Int ratio will get worse. -

The strength of the Jets was its defense, and its running game. on defense they got rid of a pro bowler in faneca, and picked up a corner back that could potentially be either great or terrible. With the running game they got rid of their two lead backs from last year (TJ, LW) to pick up Mr glass LT. they picked up wide reciever santonio holmes, but hes going to miss the first 4 games(one of those vs the pats) and is one strike from a year suspension.on the pats side, they just drafted the new core of the defense, finally have some future plans at tightend, brady will be back to 100% after his recovery season.Pats will win another afc east this year, and if the jets play the same way as last year will end up out of the playoffs, since the only reason they made them was they played 2 preseason teams at the end of the year -

And rookie QBs always regress in their second year, especially with AFC Champion T-Shirts already printed. "Went to the AFC title game"? Really? Sure about that? You sure they weren't handed 2 games to avoid going 7-9? Gee, if you have the #1 rush offense and D was is your QB so bad (12 TDs and 20 Ints)? That's pretty awful. At one point they lost 6 games in a row. They were lucky to even get past SD. Beating an injured Cincy team is nothing to write home about either. There seems to a lot of discontent int he locker room in NY too. Read up, son. It's a mirage. They had an awful draft, lost a lot of key players that were part of building towards a better team this year. A lot of those players are now gone. Pats will run it right at Devito at DE, Taylor at OLB and Cromartie. Poorly, poorly built team.

I was at the Jet game in November last year and the Jets didn't show me anything. That team laid down and died that day. Lets see if they're allowed to swoon this year and still get to the playoffs. -

Exactly. The Jets are going for broke this season. With the uncapped season, I kept waiting for an announcement that the Jets had traded for Rothlisberger. That would have worried me. -

As soon as Adalius Thomas was released yesterday by the Patriots, speculation that Thomas would quickly be signed by the Jets gained momentum. The veteran linebacker, after all, has always been a favorite of Rex Ryan, having played for him for six years in Baltimore, where he had his best seasons. Thomas knows Ryan’s defense inside and out. Thomas, too, could potentially help a Jets pass rush that struggled to get to the quarterback last season, finishing with a low sack total of 32. Despite the stars seemingly aligned for a Thomas-Ryan reunion, however, a highly-placed NFL source told The Post last night that the Jets’ interest in signing Thomas is “minimal.” — NY Post

This would be the best news all day to have Thomas go to the Jets and waste a spot on their roster. Have Seabass knock him on his butt a few times.
Suppose BBRules you wanted the Pats to bet the ranch on Peppers and Marshall so we can win a Super Bowl this year then quickly go back to the late 80's and early 90's after a new salary cap is enforced. This offseason was to continue a youth movement and get rid of any cancer's in the locker room. Pats will still be good this year and will make quite a few Super Bowl runs this decade. -

The fact is, we don't know if that will happen. They have added some serious talent, who can produce at high level, or go bust. I do hope they go bust, but I was also hoping for superbowl last year. So, we can just 'hope' that the locker room in NYJ gets corroded by adding such 'questionable' talent, but I think we are hoping too much. Rex is a good coach and knows how to handle his ship. He can get production out of AD, and other players. Our players fit to the scheme (like AD being used as MLB), but Rex typically tries to fit the scheme to player's strength (like putting Gholston as DE). So he might get some production out of all these players. So I am pretty cautious about calling them dead. Before you guys start rambling that I am NYJ fan, want to declare that I've been a NE season ticket holder for last 5 years!

The jests have collected a bunch of malcontents that other teams wouldn't touch. Sure, its possible that they'll all come together, under their HOF second year coach, and win a SB. But, the smart money says LT, cromartie, marshall, AT and other head cases will underachieve, meltdown under the NY sports pressure and blow this team up halfway through the season. -

Russg, I like your posts, but what if lets say Dirty Sanchez just happens to be very good and does lead the Jets into the SB game? You seem to think that just because something is written on paper or in stat sheets that this could be impossible. Dont blind yourself to the possibility that this very well could happen. Then, why aren't YOU dealing with reality? Very good offseason so far for the Pat's and the Jet's might be marginally better then last year and remember, last year they needed two teams top lie down and play dead for them to even get in the playoff's, so take away those two games and the Pat's win the division by 3 games and the Jet's don't even make it to the AFC CG neverminbd the playoff's. Hitch up your panties man! The runninjg game got a lot worse, they picked up a receiver who can't play for the first 4 games and probably won't make it a year with them, lost an all pro Fenaca, still have a lousy QB in Sanchez. They'll probably pick up AT which hurts them even more.
Gonna be a good year! -
