Brady looked old and cold. Like Bert Favre in 07, and Manning last week. Pats better load up with some receivers and a back as Brady had 2 seasons left. 37/38 yrs old is it. He looked 50 tonight when it was time to run.

To help put things into perspective, after a big loss and far more tragic head and other injuries, here are words from the inimitable Noam Chomsky on sports:

Well, in our society, we have things that you might use your intelligence on, like politics, but people really can't get involved in them in a very serious way -- so what they do is they put their minds into other things, such as sports. You're trained to be obedient; you don't have an interesting job; there's no work around for you that's creative; in the cultural environment you're a passive observer of usually pretty tawdry stuff; political and social life are out of your range, they're in the hands of the rich folks. So what's left? Well, one thing that's left is sports -- so you put a lot of the intelligence and the thought and the self-confidence into that. And I suppose that's also one of the basic functions it serves in the society in general: it occupies the population, and keeps them from trying to get involved with things that really matter.

Oh no, NOT a communist- he's a libertarian socialist/anarcho syndicalist! So........that's COMPLETELY different!

    That's funny!

I actually met Noam Chomsky back in 1988.  I asked him this:  Are you a communist.  He said "Yes"

So what's wrong with communists?  All you ever hear is people complaining about our government. Americans have to make up their minds. Which  do you want?  Life for the people, or life door the rich?

Not running for the 1st down was the end. He's finished.  He doesn't have the complete desire anymore.  It was 5 yards. Couldn't get it.

The two punts w/in the Ravens 40 yard line in the first half -- stops by the Ravens -- kind of set the pace for the game. No Tom Terrific in the 2nd half or 4th Q. Offense ran out of gas. 13 points. One TD? Ravens had them buttoned up, and Pats style, seized the opportunity. Better team won.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Brady is a choke artist since he married Gretchen or whatever her name is, no I do not care to have even one tiny micro-chip of my brain assigned to Patriots' wives' names. Think about it, BG (Before Gretchen) Three Rings, since then FIVE CHOKES. Once he sits on the bench by himself with his head hung (which he started doing very early on tonight) he should be instantly benched, or at least soundly reprimanded: "Tom, get your hang-dog head up and go lead this team, don't sit here and sulk and continue to be a loser just cuz you had one bad set." That's why I didn't watch them much this year, I knew it would come to something like this, perhaps Tom was thinking of his next GQ photo shoot, or perhaps Gretchen woke him up at 3:00am to ask him why he didn't say anything about her new haircut, and then all hell broke loose with throwing objects and drama. Joe Flacco looked like the Tom of old, making pinpoint passes and going for the JUGULAR. And what's up with the long huiddles at the opening of the Fourth Quarter? HELLO!!! A little urgency, Tom! But we didn't see the urgency until the 2 minute warning, alas....

Brady was badly off target in first half regardless of score and when Welker dropped an easy first down catch... the omen of worse to come was given.  When Pats win Brady and Belichick get all the ludos and in this loss Brady and Belichick deserve the bashing I'm sure is coming.  The D was stellar in first half, even though O stunk; and whole team stunk in second half.

The Pat's time has come and gone.  It's over folks. You cannot live off of your reputation forever.  Excuses are for losers.  Face reality. This is a team that is being humiliated on it's home field.  The Ravens are the better team. The tougher team.  Brady is not all that great. He has been surpassed by the younger quarterbacks in the league. Belichick has been surpassed by other coaches.  This is true.  They were thoroughly out-played and out- coached on their home field tonight.  This is not going to change in the near future.  The run is over.  Do not blame the injuries. That is lame. Face the reality of it . It was a great run , but it is over.

thats pretty much how i see it too.

The run is not over. Give me a break. If Talib does not get hurt it's much closer because it was his man, Boldin, that killed them. Let Welker go, spend some money on defensive players and they will be fine if they spend the money on the right ones. The team is far from done. The Ravens won, they earned it.

I don't think the run is necessarily over either, but I do the window is slowly closing for Brady and some of the other players.  A few plays can change a game and that is whAt happened tonight.  If Welker catches a couple more passes on third down we probably score one or two more TD. little things add up over the course of the game and change the momentum.  Overall, I think we need to use the running backs we have more and this will open up the game for us.  Reality is there are other good teams in the league and it only takes one bad game to get knocked out.

Oh no way- Brady was on point this game. There were too many drops and poor plays called. But he moved it at will against the Ravens and audibled constantly, checkmating the Ravens defense. Flacco is still a subpar QB- just throws jump balls up there and hopes to either get a defensive PI or that an offensive PI doesn't get called. No precision or accuracy, an inability to read defenses and still is an easily-rattled head case.

Any moron still talking about Spygate has no clue.   Who cares if someone was taping signals that get changed every week.  It was a NON-story.  Get over it.

Patriots and Brady are human.  Two major themes.  They need several players and better schemes to get a pass rush.  This is a consistent theme for 5 or 6 years.  Talib injury hurt a lot, but they still "only" gave up 28 points.  In second half, Flacco just stood there and waited for open receiver.

The other BIG theme is to revisit the offense.  Three huge games: 2007 SB, 2012 SB and tonight and the offense was fairly anemic.  They can wrack up points in regular season, but when they run into the tough defenses in playoffs, they struggle and have nowhere near the punch.   They need a very good receiver to stretch the D (what is new) and recommit to the running game.

Of course we need DB's but before Talib was hurt, we looked pretty good.  No Pass rush can not cover up any flaws in backfield.

It's too bad that the Patriots lost, but I blame them for allowing Baltimore to outplay them, we can't direct our anger - or any stupid hatred - at Baltimore. I'm very disgusted with Belecheck for refusing to do interviews tonight, even to local Boston media. He's a sore loser, and I lost a bit of respect for him tonight. Some of his players were man enough to interview. But I do love my Patriots and I thank them for a good football season. They have a good foundation to build a championship team in upcoming seasons, and the New England Patriots will be back.

Pats needed to force turnovers after those mid-field punts where the Ravens were pinned down at their 8-yard line. Those were the intended choke-holds, but Pats let Flacco wriggle out to mid-field. Pats had and then lost the momentum a few mins. into 2nd quarter. You could feel the tide turning right then.
