[QUOTE]In Response to Re: All is not well in Miami + Brandon Marshall revisited : Yes, it makes  perfect sense to reference a Moss misdemeanor or the lack of birth control one night by Bridget Moynihan as a plan to force Brady to marry her and compare it to Brandon Marshall's rap sheet

WOW, so now she tried to pin Brady with a baby, huh? Brady cant do any wrong, can he? Isnt birth control/prevention on both parties? Your off base with this one.

Another angle of heavy drinking by a team is their lack of stamina, often characterized by a general wearing down of the team, and then lots of losses in December.  Miami, true to form, threw three gutter balls in a row between December 20, 2009 and January 3, 2010.  Two of those were in front of their home crowd.  They were actually ahead of the New York Jets at one point in December but that didn't last.

I'm glad that perfect72 notes that Donte Stallworth WAS a Patriot.  It's important to note that Stallworth committed the crime AFTER he was released by the team.

Brandon Marshall committed these acts BEFORE he joined the team.

And the word "allegedly" only means that they didn't press charges.

This thread is pathetic..I mean c'mon really? When he's torching your secondary this year I'm sure you'll still be talking about his rap sheet. Notice how the world "allegedly" was used for most of those cases. I'm sure you'll be using the same lame excuse when he scores 4 td's against your secondary this year and how happy you'll be because "he's not on your team"...riiiigggghhhht. The man is no saint but let's see how he delivers on the field this year. At least he's not running over Meter maids because he's too high to drive or killing someone because they're driving drunk(Dante Stallworth anyone?)..and yes he was a Patriot. Marshall was charged and convicted of an oui...that's it. If we're discussing character issues he why not bring up a certain Qb who cheated on his girlfriend and had a kid with another woman? That's ok though because he plays for YOUR team.
    Posted by perfect72

How many times is Marshall going to "allegedly" beat a woman until he kills someone? Seriously, if it was one or two times I could maybe see him being a target because he's dumb enough to put himself in those situations, but there is a half dozen instances listed on that list. You're right he isnt a saint, he's a coward.  Didnt he just have surgery?  You dont even jnow if he's going to be healthy enough to get on the field this year and you already have him single handedly beating the Pats. This thread isnt pathetic, your argument is. Go Pats!

Welcome back, Mr. Perfect! How's life treating you??

Regardless of your cries of "these were just allegations", we both know that Marshall has had numerous domestic violence issues in the past. But, who knows? Maybe a change in scenery, and financial security will help him to mature. Thus far, he seems to be saying and doing all the right things. But, his hip situation bears watching: http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/06/27/1702864/marshall-expects-best-year-ive.html

its concerning but i dont think parcells would have given him the money if he wasnt confident that marshall was going to be the same player but different man...and i think most of us sans crusty can all agree that parcells has forgotten more football than we will ever know...so ill give parcells the benefit of the doubt here as well

and id be more concerned about the hip if marshall wasnt riding a stationary bike the very next day and been catching passes and running routes since then

...Rusty is just a one-trick pony....Pats rule in every facet of the game on and off. Every other team is a bunch of has-beens, thugs, and any other derogatory comment he can pull out of the "little boy" thesaurus he has on his shelf. As for dates, he gets plenty. All he does is go to his Patriots shrine, ask his BB figurine and/or TB blow up doll and presto, he has a date!!

Too bad we can't get a look at his Juvenile rap sheet also. Parcells never had a problem with troubled talent. He always assumed he could keep them on the straight and narrow while they were on the team. The only problem now is he isn't the coach too.

Why is it any time a team picks up a player that has any type of issues the posts around here are that he's going to destroy the team or the team will implode?  It is pretty dumb.  The ability of that team to succeed is almost most always about one) how good the coach is at keeping them together and two) how the player performs on the field.  Coaches like The Tuna & BB and a few others could get production out of malcontents.  And people like Dillon, Moss, Marshall, Sanders, Holmes etc put up numbers while being a 'problem'.  And when their teams didn't win the superbowl, it was hardly their fault.  This whole 'character' thing is so blown out of proportion, especially once guys have shown they can produce on the field.

what have they done lately to earn your high praise or for us to be the least bit concerned...im not impressed but that gimmick offense was effective for half a season...winning consistantly requires a high evel qb...you dont have one...

what do you think marshall will do on that team if say they dont have a winning record and are just average (which is how they are projected and pretty much anyone can see they will finish?)

yes thats correct...hes gonna get in trouble...with the law...again.... so what is wrong with pointing out that a thug is suddenly going to turn into something his not or can not...

ill start with A because you are a moron
    A. its not a gimmick offense when you run it less than 5% of the time...it would be a gimmick formation
    B. we dont know if henne will be a good qb yet...but he has the tools to do so and im willing to give him more than 1 season before calling him a failure...especially when considering the young, and relatively enough unproductive WR's he had last year
    C. well its not like the broncos had alot of success with him there...most professionals however realize that you cant win every game, every year...but the guy is a flat out player on the football field and cant wait to watch him burn the young secondary the pats have
    D. it sounds like alot of wishful thinking on the part of pats fans that hope marshall gets in trouble...and if so...thats pretty low as a fan base...although from some you (not most or all)...i would expect nothing less
