Look at their season records. They're terrible prognosticators.
    Especially Gaspar.

Before you all start acting like Felger and make crap up for ratings there's a seven point spread to be considered.

I think they all pick against the spread.  Has any of them come right out and said the Cowboys would WIN or simply COVER the spread?  There is a difference.

I'd take Dallas with 7 points.  This looks like a shootout.  I don't think Romo's great, but lesser QB's have looked stellar against this defense.

I think almost all of the ESPN Dallas staff is picking the Patriots.

I remember the build-up the last time the Pats played Dallas.  Similar stuff (Pats can't defend Dallas offense, Dallas D will stuff Pats O, etc).  Pats won that game pretty handily.  The press needs to build up intrigue on the game to keep the national audience interested (and TV ratings up).

The spread is about 7.  I still think the Pats will win by at least that.

It's a convenient copout for them. Pats win and don't cover and they can just say they picked against the spread. Pats lose and they picked Dallas. It's gutless.

I don't know the exact numbers but as someone who bets the games the Pats seem to cover quite a bit especially when nobody expects them too. It's not just the globe guys, everyone I have seen on TV(So Called Experts) are picking Dallas too. Everything they predicted in college football yesterday was wrong though so it doesn't pay much to listen to the experts and I don't like much of anything the Globe staff writes.

And here I thought that was their greatest talent. I heard a rumor they were getting better at walking and chewing gum at the same time. They're only falling down half the time now.

If you look at their records for the year I'm glad they took Dallas. I believe only 2 are above 500 and just barely! LOL  Most of us on this board would fare much better!

They picked them for the wrong reasons. Didn't they all say the game would be close because the defense would let Romo keep up with Brady in a points fest?

I would have taken the spread for the same reasons, but the Cowboys looked tough the whole way.  I never thought this would a Pats blowout .  Emotional letdown from last  (the Pats did look flat for much of the game), Cowboys have some talent on both sides of the ball, good defensive coach and two weeks to prepare.  Tell you what, I much rather play Buffalo than Dallas.  I was surprised the Pats D came up with that huge stop at the end.  Good team have to find a way win close games like this, hats off to them.
