    All this game proves is.....

....how good this offense could be if the receivers would just be more consistent catching the ball when Brady puts it right on their frig-gin hands!

Gimme a break, Brady was awful for a lot the game. The defense bailed out the O...again.

Ok, take your break. Brady has been throwing less accurately than usual all season, the INT in the 4th is an example. But is that the point of this thread? No, its not. The point of this thread is "this shows how good this offense could be if the receivers would be more consistent catching the ball when Brady outs it right in their frig-gin hands". Glad we cleared that up.....

Defense played very well until Talib got hurt.   Brady started 16 for 20 with 2 drops and a throwaway at the end of the half.   People are spoiled.

Brady had one bad throw to DA that he should have put air under.  He was not awful.  People need to stop with that.

Oh, and Brady outplayed Brees who had a lot more weapons.

Yes, receivers who can catch and hang on to the ball and maybe even get some YAC mae a huge difference. Collie was key in that last drive.

Also proves we have a lot of fake, bandwagon fans. Stadium was half-empty at the end. Embarrassing.

The Saints scored as many points with Talib in as Talib out. Tom Brady was terrible, like the INT in the 4th, throwing behind Edelman a lot. The Defense doesnt make those stops, Brady doesnt get the ball 3 times in 3 minutes with only a 1 and then 4 point lead.

Noy trying to take away from him,Gronk needs to help him out and show up for the redzone to be effective, but he wasnt ligthtsout with the receivers dropping passes. He was okay and had drops, he didnt play like Brady till that final drive.

    True story.

Saints get a first down and it's over. Brady played fantastic in the last minute. Before that, up and down. First half was solid, next 29 minutes pretty mediocre.

Defense won that game. Return of Ridley was a big plus also.

When that long pass was intercepted I thought it was over but the D came through and the Offense came through in that last possession.

There were several passes that were right on the money but dropped by receivers especially in the 2nd half. It was nice to see Collie come in and give the Pats a boost when it was needed.

I thought Brady had a good game sans that long pass.

AND?????  Brees had the same three shots.

Brees missed wide open receivers all night. A biggie in the EZ. Threw right to Arrington on the pic.

Those were not defensive stops.  They were QB misses.

All QB's MISS. ALL OF THEM.  EVEN THE BEST.  You want him to go 40/40?

Some of you people are drunk on your own thoughts.

    They're making me dizzy, too!

Brady was very good (not great) for stretches of the game, especially in the first half, but also pretty bad for stretches (mostly in the 2nd half). Yes, he is dealing with less talent, or at least very young talent, in the secondary. He was also excellent when it mattered in the closing seconds.

But he needs to be MUCH better.

There is still a good chance that as the season winds down the offense will feature all the following things they currently don't have:

    - A healthy Gronk, Amendola and Vareen perfoming at high levels

    - Dobson and Thompkins even better than now as they outgrow the rookie errors, get on the same page with Brady consistently and just continue to gain confidence and reps

    - Ridley getting healthier and using this NO games to sprinboard him back to 2012 level/stats as he protects the ball and gets 20 carries/90+ week in and week out

It proves we can beat a good team

It proves we can beat a great Qb

it proves that. The D is special they gave up only 24 pts to a top O

It proves that they can stop a great TE

It proves that Dobson and KT are still getting better

It proves that TB still has his magic

It proves we can still get better

It proves we are still in the hunt and we haven't even seen the best TE and red zone player in the league

It proves we win as a team and lose as a team

It proves we still have to get better

Sheesh..   Pats can't win for losing in your eyes!!  Must have to be a 52 - 0 win in order for you to be happy in any fashion.  Gotta find something wrong with any win, huh?  Me thinks you are trying to emulate Rusty to a degree with significantly high expectations and all must be perfect to gain your appreciation.

COme on, dude. Every team has drops. Watch the NFL.  Brady also missed Amendola wide open deep on a 70 yard TD and the ball was not the right trajectory.  He's brutal with those, but in the end he made his money on that last drive.

Let's not ruin a great win with ridiculous ticky tack complaints.

What this games proves is, with Gronk, we runaway against a team everyone was drooling over the first month of this season.

I warned NO's D was overrated.  I also warned we have the best D in the NFL so far this season.

    [/QUOTE]

Umm, no.  NOT ALL TEAMS make this many drops.

Team Receiver Drops Percentage measures the rate at which a teams receivers make contact with the ball but end up dropping it incomplete. This gives an indication to how well a teams receiving core is at converting relatively catchable balls into completions.

    Week 5,

Worst in the league.  Week 6 will increase those GOD AWFUL figures.  Thompkins has more drops than half the teams (NOT RECEIVERS) in the NFL.  TEAMS!

    32, New England Patriots 194 17
