FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Receiver Danny Amendola, who was held out of practices last week and didn't play in the Patriots' 40-9 preseason loss to the Lions, returned to practice Monday.
Amendola had been hobbled after playing 20 snaps in the team's Aug. 16 preseason win over the Buccaneers, but the injury (specific details of which are not known) was never considered something serious enough to threaten his availability for the Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the Bills.
In the time that reporters were present at practice, Amendola looked like he was a full participant, with no restrictions.
Elsewhere, defensive end Jermaine Cunningham, who has missed all three preseason games due to an unknown injury, was dressed in pads for practice. He worked mostly with members of the team's strength and conditioning staff on the lower practice field, away from the rest of the team.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is on the active/physically unable to perform list, was spotted working on the lower practice field with the team's assistant strength and conditioning coach. He wore a t-shirt and shorts, while all other players were in full pads.
