Bottom line is the best available corner in Sean Smith signed with KC @ 3/18mil.  I don't see why Pats wouldn't be able to pay even that to Talib, if not for a little less.  I can't see how Pats would lose out on Talib, unless Pats never really wanted him back.

with talib out there, the pats pass defense was much improved...even in the baltimore game, before talib got hurt, they were shutting down the ravens offense. once talib went out, they had marquice freakin cole playing on anquan boldin at times...id say that was advantage ravens. i agree that their secondary depth was bad last year, but i cant disagree more with the premise that they were a bad secondary with talib out there. it just isnt true, talib improved that secondary drastically, which is why so many of us want him to be back.

The main thing that has killed from seriously winning 1, maybe 2 SBs the last 2 years is their starting and best pass rushers or secondary guys weren't avaialbel when we needed them.

We win SB 46 if Carter doesn't get hurt in Denver. I said it when the injury happened, because I knew it would be a roll of the dice with Anderson playing 3 downs. They almost had it, which makes the 4th qtr from Brady and Welker so maddening.

I am telling ya, they're not far off. This whole media attack on BB is completely uncalled for off a lockout.

He rebuilt the base brilliantly and is now capping it off with vets at very cheap prices based on the market.

Some of our fans simply didn't like his approach or strategy, but expect deep SB runs in 2013, 2014 and maybe even 2015.

Honey Badger is 5'8" and between 176 and 186 lbs. He benched 225 4 times. He is a poor tackler. The Pats just signed Arrington to play nickle. What would they need with this Honey Badger who is a borderline NFL CB? If the Pats sign Emanual, they lose their 3rd. Unless they trade out of the first or 2nd, they have very, very few choices. You want them to choose this guy?

They were the worst secondary without Talib and he brought them up to average to slightly above average secondary but he's only one man. I wanted him back but I would have liked to add a Lewis or Cox or hopefully (still possible) a Cason instead of just bringing back Arrington and Talib, but they still have the draft (Mathieu?) and Cason is still available so hopefully they don't just resign Arrington and Talib and call it a day with the CBs

Other than toughness and tackling ability I really dont see why they would lock him up. He came on late in the year but was getting burnt the 1st half of the year (IN THE SLOT). I was hoping we would get 2 LEGIT outside CBs that are around 6 ft and kick Dennard inside but I guess not.  I swear they better not have given him more than 3 mill/year. Must be a down year cuz Carey Williams got paid and a few posters mentioned him and he s*cked last year too! I like this. Arrington is not the answer at starting CB, but he's a versatile fifth DB, a good depth guy, and an excellent special teamer (almost at Slater's level in kick coverage).  We still need a starting corner though.

Well, that's not 5 million and only 8.5 million is guaranteed.  I am right as usual.  I wanted him here for 2 more years before the cap jumps. He doesn't get hurt, so it's likely he plays t lasgt 2 years and probably into 2013, with his potential of being cut in 2016.
