Re: BB calls Welker hit a cheap hit

    From NESN:

No matter what Belichick thinks, the hit was legal — just ask Mike Pereira. Was it dirty, though? If you want to call a clean hit on a suspecting player (Talib saw it coming and braced himself for contact) in a contact sport’s championship game “dirty,” then that’s your business. Just remember that the player laying the hit is 5-foot-9 and has a recent history of concussion issues and that his job isn’t to hit people — it’s to catch footballs and take hits.

Yeah, it's very uncharacteristic for BB to react so angrily and with conviction about a play that was so close.  The fact that a guy (MP) who specializes in the rules and can slow the play down frame-by-frame calls it legal is further evidence against BB.

as others have suggested it was WHO it was more than what it was most likely

even Kraft probably said in his private box "it has to be Welker of all people!"

Either way its was a flagrant pick block that the refs didn't call for offensive PI, Talib was playing his man, and hobbit welker took out our best DB, changed the whole game for our defense.

later on we got called for a pick block that was chinsy

Do you know the rule?  It's not a penalty if the Thomas touches the ball before Welker makes contact with Talib.  At reagular speed it is so close that you can't really tell for sure.

Yes it is penalty. Ball was in the air, so it's Off PI.  You sure you're a Pats fan?  Even when your team is jobbed, you can't understand it. Very odd.

thanks for clarifying. now can you take care of that troll papajohn18 for us.
