Just got to roll with the punches.  Players come and players go and the Pats keep WINNING!!  It is the emotions of the fans that get hurt the most.  For the players and the team, they understand it is just "business".

    Doubt it.

The Mickey D offense is designed around quick releases, partially to protect TB, partially because TB does not scramble, per se.  I expect a continuation of TE-centric passing, maybe moving AH to the slot, or picking up a WW-type.  But I will be very surprised if TB isn't in the shotgun a lot again.

The big name WRs are not coming here.

If they get Amendola, then they're fine. Hernandez/Amendola used in and out of the hashes?  That's more than enough.

Welker wanted more money, he got it. His choice.

That's building your house on a pile of sand my friend. I agree it's prob walkers choice but you can't be serious with those two names are you? Hernandez is one of my top 2-3 favorite players but so far...fragile. Same with da--worse actualy-sound theory but those two will miss a combined 10-12 games based on their careers thus far.

We don't need big names. That's sort of the point.  BB is sitting on a contingency. I can smell it. And it's not just going for Amendola either.

You dropped the name Larry Fitz.  That caliber player will not be in the crosshairs.

I am not sure the Pats can run it behind a right side of Wendell/Connolly/Cannon. Gronk and Ballard have to stay on the field to be a great run team, can Gronk?

You better be right Russ or the Pats are toast. what Denver gave him is crap. Bb didn't match for whatever reason, but he better have a solid plan in place or I expect a bad season. we better not go in with Lloyd and stallworth and our te's. that ain't going to get it done+ the broncos just became very lethal on offense.

I love this move. Time to cut the chains. Pats obviously did not want him. Pats need a big change in the offense. What moves are made next will tell what the Pats are thinking.

I need an explanation as to how he got more money... This wasnt about money, this was about wes sticking it to the pats the best way he knew how. And thats going to play with horseface and the Broncos. Wes made it personal and i hope the first time we play the broncos BB makes sure to stick it to wes the best way he knows how.

    Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter

Patriots began pursuing Rams free-agent WR Danny Amendola during the three-day negotiating window last weekend.

Well Russ, the best GM in history now has an opportunity to reset the table. Lets see how he does.

That would be the right side bonehead. And im not so sure vollmer leaves now with wes gone. We can put a little bit of that money toward vollmer.

You can count on BB doing this.  He will make It a point to take hoff out of the offense.

Well, maybe Florio was right last week when he said Welker is gone and Amendola is the new Welker.

There is a sense of relief with this. It's sort of like breaking up with that girl you used to really be into, but you've been putting off the break up.

They may be able to get a Welker Jr for under 6 mil per at this point since Welker just took less than what NE offered him last year. lol

The other bad news for Broncos fans in 2013 is the SB is outdoors in windy NY in February, which is something Welker probably should have thought about.

What does the SB in ny have to do with this? I assume you mean horseface?

Re: BB Finally Pulls Plug On Shotgun Spread

I agree with the king here.

I see this as a move to get back to a ball-control offense. They'll be pounding the rock, and Brady just won't have his binky anymore. If the skill players can remain healthy, then I'm confident in this team's ability.

Bottom line is that there is still plenty of time to make a few signings to improve this team. Not necessarily big signings, but simple ones to help this team out. Don't be surprised if they go after a pass rushing specialist (Harrison, Dumervil) with this cap money.

Everyone has been crying about how the defense needs to be improved. Well, this is probably the start of the Patriots focusing a little bit less on offense and more on defense.

Re: BB Finally Pulls Plug On Shotgun Spread

I think BB will try to get a replacement for Welker in the slot (Amendola, Cribbs) and then we will see a focus on outside WRs. It would be nice to see more weapons on the outside in order to keep our offense less predictable.
