Belichick, a vindictive one whos time has passed

He hasn;t won anything since '04 and benches his 2nd best player to start a playoff game? He's an ego freak and the game has passed him by. Three straight playoff losses make him an ordinary Joe. Tomlin, Harbaugh, Morris, Smith are all better coached than our BB!There may be more. Maybe Kraft looks for a replacement as out coaching wonder has lost it!

he's very poor with personel decisions.  get rid of Samuels and waste five 2nd round or 3rd roun picks and 3 FA before picking McCordy.  Still don't have a 2nd corner.  Butler the midget stinks...he's just a poorer Elis Hobbs and Arryington forget him!  Whilheit...terrible.  No deep threat...showed up against the JETS when Rex brought the safties in, turned the out side  routs in and clogged up the middle.  Tate is a looser....2 good kick off return was all you saw from him...doesn't draw any defensive respect at all...When was the last time you saw a Patriot back break one and take it 50 yards to the house....No true threat there. Whjat was so wrong with Cdhris Johnson?  As for a pass rush no sacks not even any hurries turned Sanchez into Sanchize.  By the way in the last 3 post season games Brady has been sacked9 times while the opposing QB hasn't been sacked once.  What was so wrong with Clay Matthews?  Would you rather have a team that has the best won lost record in the last 7 years but hasn't won a SB or a team that has a slightly poorer won lost percentage and wins an occasional Lombardi?  Maybe BB wants the stats since he has the rings.  Brady is gettin older and continues to be surrounded by loosers like Maroney and oh yes! everybody's favorite Rache Caldwell.  The Boston media refuse to admit there is a talent issue which is not being addressed.  trading down for mediocre quantity over playmaker type quality just isn't working.

EXCELENT ANALYSIS CREINER, RIGHT ON THE MONEY.

You, Jader and I are one of the few silent minority who has refused to no longer drink Belicheck's Pisz and not Kool Aid as some would suggest, coming out of foxboro. The reason some like us are crying out the top of our lungs for a better product is because we constantly hear the over the top praise for the New England Patriots having a Hall of Fame Coach who is this supposed Genius in managing a football team. Has lead his team in the past to Superior status and maintains this into the present day. We hear endless praise for our Hall of Fame QB is putting up stats that may be his to hold in the records. Every team wishes they had our coach and QB or owner to manage their organization but yet, they are failing us because they keep shooting themselves on the foot. I don't Blame Brady in all of this, he is not the problem, he does his job. Why is Kraft and Belicheck keep selling this team short sometimes. Why do they not go out in full force and surround Tom Brady with the best of the best. They've had the missing pieces all along to keep this a well oiled machine but they keep picking up rotten junk from the junkyard and it is ruining the engine, filing it up with filth.

For Example, did they really need to break up the 07 squad that was in place. Donte Stallworth was a great addition to this team, he adapted well and brought into the system, they couldn't have offered him a lousy 2-3 or even 4 year contract to retain him?. Jabbar Gaffney, same thing, loved playing here, was a great 3rd to 4th receiver along Welker and Moss, wasn't really breaking the bank but they let him go. The next year, we had Joey Freakin' Galloway. Meanwhile receivers were getting bigger, taller and more physical but Belicheck goes out and drafted a bunch of little talentless Shrimp in Weatley Butler and Whilhite in addittion to Ellis Hobbs who was already horrible. On defense, they go out and bring in an old f a r t from the Raiders and Junior Seau for the 50th time, all for the lousy veteran's minimum. Patriots have not only traded down to get junk but they wait until all the top names are gone in free agency and end up getting some nobody has been who wants a last shot at a ring for the veteran's minimum to come play here. Meanwhile, Tom Brady is getting older and his talents getting completely wasted throughout the process of surrounding him with junk to do a patchwork job.

Some Patriots fans now have accepted Failure as a new success. It might work in Bob Kraft's world because it works for his business, its a win win situation even if the team doesn't win the Superbowl. With Tom Brady as your star QB, Belicheck as your Prima Dona coach, sales of merchandise and sell out seats on a 14-2 non superbowl season, you still win. 2 years now The Pats have had a terrible OC in Bill Obrien, plenty of ex coaches are being fired every year and getting hired by other teams but for some reason, the Patriots way under Belicheck is so complicated, they can't come here and help this team win, WHAT PFHUCKING CR0CK OF SHT. You mean to tell me a guy like Mike Singletary couldn't come here and light a candle under the defense' asz and get them ready to play a trash talking Jets team. That's exactly the kind of Hard asz coach we'd need, not some Ex-Engineer turned football coach Matt Pattricia, who is Belicheck's assistance as the Defensive Coordinator.

Patriots fan hoping that this draft is going to bring in hope, keep waiting, its gonna be the same policy and Brady's window to bring this team a title is fast and closing.

I'm not trying to justify losing as virtue, but to expect (not hope for, EXPECT, as you apparently seem to) a Super Bowl win every season borders on loonacy. If 14-2 with a collection of rookies, 2nd year guys, and UDFA castoffs is a catastrophe, then what would you call the 1-15 days of Rod Rust?

You label people who find value and worth in a 14-2 season with the above condtions as "new" Pats fans, yet you yourself act as one. I may not remeber the days of Rust, (I didn't even exist then), but I'm old enough to remember the days where a Super Bowl berth was enough to stop the world. Would any Pats fan be disappointed by the outcome of this season? Of course. But true Pats fans, which you claim to be, would realize that, despite the untimely nature of the season's end, this season for the Pats really wasn't all that bad.

    A few questions Patsboy3:

    -  What or who exactly is a "new Pats fan?"  I mean in the last decade we've been to the playoffs in all but two years (if memory serves) and have won 3 SBs.
    -  What do you mean by "accepting failure as success?"  I suppose the previous question must be answered first - but do you consider anything but a SB victory a failure?  If so, were you a fan before our 1st SB?

Your post imples that maybe, just maybe, you're the "new Pats fan" and if that's the case, tell me who, in Pats history, has had a better run then BB?  Because I've been a Pats fan since the late 60's and I can't think of anyone.  BTW - which coach besides BB would you rather have.  And if the Pats recent history is so awful, name me one team that has a better one (last 10 years).  And don't say the Steelers because unless they win this year's SB, it's still 3-2 Pats over Steelers WRT SB victories.  So please enlighten me.  Or are you just a silly troll.

He is the opposite of a kool aid drinker.. a Rant Acid drinker.  He just loves to hear anything negative and raging about the team, staff, etc because he believes we should win every time, every year.  Don't bring up history, other teams success level, or just how silly it would be if we won every year, or even every other year.  He is just mad, and want someone to blame for it.  "Someone"  is 45 guys who dressed last Sunday, coaching staff, scouting staff, show team, and a few others.  But that is too general for him, so he focused it on the Coach.  Sure.  Makes sense to me.

Have to disagree. 14-2 was way better than most expected this year and he would have to be close to coach of the year awards. I really think this year he will go after someone to help the pass rush in either the draft or FA. The loss to the Jets was disappointing as expectations were high after the great regular season but they ran into a team that was really bought to win playoffs and unluckily for us Pats fans they managed to put it together just enough on the day to get it done. To me if the Pats had of gone out on a massive spending spree like the Jets had done and bought in just about every FA available and not won the Superbowl it would be a failure - as it will be for the Jets after Sunday.

Mike Singletary!  What a brilliant idea!  He's had such success as an NFL coach.  I'll bet he would never lose a game.  And by all means get rid of Bill O'Brien.  The Patriots scored 518 points during the regular season, a disappointing SEVENTH most in the history of the NFL.  Since he did not set a new record, he does not deserve to stay.  We need more brilliant fans like you.  If only the Patriots brass would listen.

You have some good points: 1) trading down has not always worked and 2) the Pats have had some bad drafts especially with 2nd round picks and 3) gotten rid of some players they probably could have kept. However, if you are expecting a perfect coach and perfect team you won't find it. Most draft choices on any team are not successes. What counts are finding key successful players that your team can build around. Certainly, the Pats have done that enough to maintain success and have exceeded that with the 2010 draft class. Furthermore, the Pats probably got rid of Seymour and Moss at the right points and definitely got rid of Adalius Thomas at the right time. The energy of the team and the meaning of the word team have consistently been maintained and the Pats have stayed true to their philosophy team sacrifice with every man committed to each others success. Whether they won the SB or not is not as important as maintaining the integrity of the organization.
