Plenty of blame to go around, but the 8 minute possession in Q$ while down 10, running the ball up the middle repeatedly, then declining to kick long field goal killed them. Inexusably bad play calling. -

beat by the better team????????? The patriots beat the Jets by 42 last time!!!!! This is a case of brady choking plain and simple. He got hit and then he got scared. You could see the game change once he got hit a couple times. Henever looked the same. Then the Offensive Coordinater resorted to calling Woodhead runs into the line every other play. brady looked like he was daydreaming about the mansion in LA by the 3rd Q. -

Disappointing end to an amazing season. Highest scoring offense in the NFL, record breaking stats and least amount of interceptions. When the game counts the most, no TD's for brady in the first half, boneheaded behavior by pro bowler Mankins and no fire or passion from anyone of the players while on the sidelines and no sense of urgency. The questions is, how could this happen with a bye week and a burning desire to win and get to the big dance. Why do the Patriots continue to lose to the Rex brother's? -

Poor game plan on offense. Where was the Law Firm? Way to many spread formations, not enough passing off of play-action. Its not 2007 any more.
Also, an early challenge and a poorly exeucted fake punt showed signs of impatience or even panic in the first half. -

It's been weeks and weeks since the Pats played a meaningful game and they were rusty and flatfooted.
Another year where they peaked too soon. -

Very disappointing performance. It makes me wish they didn't get the bye, since they looked so flat from the get-go and stayed that way. TB12 couldn't seem to get the ball where it needed to be when the chips were down. More than that, there were way too many instances of players "not doing their jobs" to borrow from BB. Hopefully, they will continue the youth movement in the sping with a stud draft class. They MUST have a pass rush that others teams fear. They sure don't have it now. -

In point of fact, Rex had the Jets much better prepared to play than did Bill have the Pats. BTW pitchers and catchers report in less than a month. -

Love the Pats, but got to give it to JETS tonight. Pats looked terrible, couldn't figure out which way is up...on to next year I guess. -

The truth is the Pats main weakness all season haunted them today. There was no pass rush, they need to draft or get a pass rush specialist in Free-agency. Where there is no threat there is no fear. Jets got to QB a few times and the Pats changed offense to draws and dumps and paid ultimate price. I cant remember Sanchez even be touched or knocked except for like 2 maybe 3 plays.

The biggest mistake was BB's benching of Welker. BB's huge ego got in the way. That was negative energy that flowed throughout the Patriot team including the coaches. BB is NOWbad for this team. Players have to leave when they don't perform, why not the Coaches. -

Looks like the bye week worked against them: Patriots came out looking like they hadn't played in a while. They were definitely "off" but I was hoping they'd come out strong in the 2nd half. It looked possible when they pulled to within 3.
How many times has an "easy win" game turned into a loss?
It seems to happen that way a lot. -

The O line did not have an effective scheme to handle the Jets blitz. -

Totally agree. Scheme and practice details can go a long way, but at the of the day, you need some talent. Here's to next year.... -

Two weeks to prepare for a team that they knew well; Colts or Jets. Did they even prepare a strategy during the two weeks? Out couched-out played- NYJ playing hungry-Pats playing like they just a large portion of fried chicken and sweet taters. I hope that game left a bitter taste in your mouth; it did mine. Sorry performance. The game was no way close to the score. -

Terrible coaching job by Belichick. 1) Fake punt...are you kidding me? Better to just punt, go into the locker room down 4 knowing you have the ball to start the 3rd.2) Should have gone no huddle the whole second half to get Brady into some kind of rhythm.3)should have booted it with 2 minutes left and pinned them back instead of the onside kick. They were just going to run it three times anyway and you stopped them the last time.Lastly, Brady choked. That pick in the first quarter made him skittish the rest of the half. He made some very un-Brady like throws and held the ball way too long. And where the hell was Hernandez?Time to move on....GO CELTS!o quarters. -

I thought Brady was scared too, it was rather obvious. When it hasn't happened to you all season then it does, well..but you're a veteran quarterback now who should be able to deal with that. Outplayed by Sanchez in a playoff game, wow. Yes Brady should learn how to run, like Jay Cutler did today.
I never once thought they couldn't lose, but I also never expected an entirely different team to show up. Part of that was due to the effort and play of the Jets, you have to give credit there for sure.
I watched the Golden Globes, couldn't take it any more. I can only imagine the Ryan/Belichick handshake..awkward much? -

Just when I was back on the Belichick bandwagon he goes and pulls some BS this game. I thought he had a great season, but then he benches Welker. This is the same crap that drove me nuts when he suspended Adalius Thomas and Co. after they were 15 minutes late in a blizzard. This isnt NCAA, these are grown men. Imagine you getting suspended at your job for being 15 minutes late in a snow storm.
And then down by 4 pts he tries the direct snap on their own 40 yard line. Did he need to do that, the Pats defense was pretty good, they probably would have been down 7-3 at halftime getting the kickoff in the 2nd half. Bill lost this game. No 2nd half adjustments.
Well I expect them to be right back in the mix next season as all these young players have another year to develop and the pats have 3 of the first 33 picks next year to add depth. But I expect the Jets to still be in the mix and Sanchez their only weakness at this point with another year of experience.
