Keep updating the Benny watch.  I understand why he left and why the Pats didn't/couldn't retain him.  He still did a good job for us and was a "feel good" story.  I hope he finds a lot of success.  We're better off this year, but I still like Benny.

Babe crashes and burns yet again...

Oh and btw I was watching that game and Law Firm broke another 50 yard run that was called back for a terrible holding call away from the play.

Hey who's that guy at the 11 spot?

    Crash and burn....

Nice try to spin there turechamp. But.... you're the one crashing and burning.

If Peterson averaged what Benny does, he would drop from 1st to 7th. If Brandon Bolden had as many carries as Benny he would be in 2nd place.

Benny's ypc are 30th in the NFL. (runners with 70+ carries)

The overall NFL average is 4.3 a carry. Benny has 4.1.

So Benny is a below average runner.

I like Benny too. Have said he is a good backup but a so so starter.

The problem has been certain persons saying he is exceptional when he isn't. For the sake of honesty I have to take issue with that.

No, and you would never want to do that with a QB that is the best in the LG. You would want to utilize the run game to keep defense's honest and open up the passing game. Clearly he was good enough for that as BB used him as our starting RB for 2 seasons. We just went away from it in the post season, which lead to poor offensive production....which if you were paying attention has been the argument for the last few years.

Awww poor Babe.  You couldnt just leave it at Benny had a good game, you had to throw in a shot as well.  You get more and more like Rusty everyday.  To bad the Bengals have such a moronic coach as to have Benny run it only 12 times or he could have easily had over 100 yards for 4 straight games.

Would you prefer that like you I should hide my head in the sand and leave out the part where he isn't even getting the NFL average per carry? That doesn't seem like much of a watch.

I have been paying attention and what you are saying is that Belichick knows less about the talent he has at the running back position than you. Sound about right? Belichick told everyone why they didn't run it more last year, remember? It was becasue the talent didn't warant that. This year it appears to be different...and we all hope it is, because asking a QB to carry the offense all by himself when his defense can't get off the field is a recipe for disaster.

If you want to call below average, "handling it".

I was never one to accuse him of not being able to carry a lot of times. Others did though.

BB said he didn't have a Corey Dillion type back to get 350 carries a season. This has nothing to do with us passing 135 att's to 55 rushing att's in 3 losses in a row to the NY Giants.     (3 Superbowls) Absolutely nothing to do with it. The men calling plays are at fault for a one dimensional game plan. If BB was the guy calling the plays then imo he is at fault too, I just don't think he was as he is famous for letting his "coaches coach".

Benny exceeded your all important 4 ypc statistic in the Ravens AFC game AND the SB. He was good enough to utilize we just chose to be one dimensional, and that is what I had a problem with.
