Said Billick: "I hate it when the players use something like this, because I think it discredits the rest of those that are deservingly, obviously. in the Pro Bowl. You understand the back and forth; they've been battling each other all year long and it's kind of amusing. But I really do hate to see it come out in this way, because that is something that is important to players."

If Suggs wants to leave certain players off his ballot because he doesn't like them, I guess that's his business. I don't get the impression that most guys want to play in the Pro Bowl anyway, although I suppose some guys probably have incentives in their contracts for this kind of thing. My question is, "Why is this news?" Brady is a shoo-in for the honor, but the people who think Suggs is trying to stir something up by this are only half-right. If Suggs actually believed Brady didn't deserve the honor, he would have simply cast his votes and shut up about it. But sticking a microphone in his face and asking him "why?" plays right into his schtick. I would be willing to bet that if the media saw this cheap stunt for what it was and refused to play along with Suggs, you would have had an even bigger story.
