I was surprised that Landry was able to stay on the field and that he played so well. Not that it is the end all be all, but he was selected for the pro bowl.
Gregory, while I was not a fan of the signing, performed below even my most modest expectations. He is too small, too slow and misreads pass plays. He is the classic tweener for a S. Chung is the better athlete than Gregory, Gregory the smarter player, but both fall whort as a S in the NFL in this passing league.
Landry was better than epected against the pass, and was very good against the run. I think he is a risky signing due to injury concern.
To argue that Gregory had a better year then Landry is simply foolish, but not surprising given the source
So, Landry was great and Gregory was bad? Gotcha.
Do you really expect people here, after your embarrassing pro Jets stance and odd behavior to take your analysis seriously?
At least Gregory could cover better than Landry. Landry was busy looking at the back of jerseys all year with Yeremiah Bell. And no, I don't think Gregory was a difference maker, but this premise that Landry was better is hilarious.
Yes. When one safety has 3 times as many tackles as another for the same price, they are not even in the same universe.
I'd be ticked off if my SS had that many tackles 10+ yards down the field. Leave it you to think that it's a strength.
What a moron. Oh my.
Yes, Queenie, I'm livid. So, what you're saying here is that Seattle, Washington, Pitt, Miami, Baltimore & San Diego had a bad run Ds because they had a safety with 100 tackles? Oh god, you're an idiot.
Where do you get this mystical number of "10 yards down the field"?
Yes, you should be livid. Your team sucked in 2012 and is getting worse.
SDs D sucked. Ray Lewis made a gazillion tackles 5+ yards down the field all year, as did Pollard. It's not like their D was lights out or even greay in the postseason. 28 points in Denver and 34 in the SB isn't very good.
Seattle's SS wasn't making tackles 10 yards downfield either. That was a good D this past year. As usual, you're wrong, combining contexts.
Enjoy pretending Landry and Bell, unable to cover or play well in the box was actually a reality for the Jets in 2012. lol
Everyone saw how weak the Jets mid field coverage was this year. The tackles that should have been made up front or at the second level, ended up happening with a roid rager named LaRon Landry.
Whopdee-doo.
Oh, I see. What was Landry doing 10 yards down the field? How was he able to make these tackles after being so far away? How was it that Pollard etc were able to make these tackles so much closer to the line? Where are you getting these "facts" about how far players were from the LOS?
Exposed! What a complete tool you are. With every post you look like more of an idiot. With Baltimore's suspect run D, why could the patsies great running game break 4 ypc against them? Was it the 'shotgun spread'?
BTW, you should really watch the games you want to reference. Baltimore's D did not give up 35 points to Denver.
