“I felt like I had a pretty good idea we’d take a quarterback,” Brady tells Peter King of The MMQB.com. “Coach Belichick doesn’t care who the quarterback is here. He’s always going to play the guy who he thinks gives him the best chance to win. It’s not my role to choose players here, thankfully. And this is not the first time they’ve taken another quarterback either. There’s no entitlement in the NFL. I don’t expect to be given anything. I just hope I’m the one most entitled to play that position for a long time here.” - Brady

You are delusional if you think he is better each season. Statistcally or padding stats in an easier era than 10 years ago, sure, but last year without Gronk around much or not having binkies all over the field, proved he's not what he used to be.

In fact, in 2006 when Reche Caldwell was his number 1, Brady was a better QB then.

2007 ruined Tom Brady as a QB.  It's why he sucks in the postseason.  That recipe in 2007 made it easy for him, so when he plays crappier Ds or average Ds in the regular season, that is how he looks. Just like that.

But when January rolls around and his skills of yesteryear are needed (throwing it away, hitting a check down, not forcing balls, being methodical on a drive, etc), they aren't there because he hasn't used them all year long.

There are two Bradys....2001-2006 and 2007-2013

I'll take the former, all day and everyday.

No one cares what a jealous Panther fan thinks about our QB.

Believe me, your time would be much better spent at the Panthers board with other fans who are jealous and know nothing about Football.  At least half of them would agree with you.

How does it feel to have a life that revolves around a sick, jealous obsession of a NFL QB?

    Pretty sad.  Pretty pathetic.

Brady's going to be around another 4 years because the best gm/coach eva wants it that way..

Just want a decent transition from Brady to whoever.  Not like Bradshaw to Cliff Stoudt or Marino to Scott Mitchell. Rebuilding is difficult given the parameters most NFL personell  departments are given.

We shall see how he handles it and if he can improve to at least be good in the postseason as opposed to being crappy.

If Brady continues to suck, though, you heard Brady.  BB won't be afraid to jettison him off a la Montana.

There is no guarantee with Brady here.  Brady should not be above the team and if this continues, he's gone.

What's sad and pathetic is you think there is a known QB out there available who is better than Brady. Only Brees or Rodgers would fall into that category.  That's it.  Maybe Russell Wilson or Luck for the younger players.

VEry short list and those QBs are not available.

What's also sad and pathetic is you and your group unable to utter the words "Brady has been subpar and needs to improve in the postseason if this team is to win a SB."

Your man lust for him blocks you from typing that sentence. That is what is sad and pathetic. You see him in his tights wearing #12 and you cream your jeans on Sunday. Some of us don't care about that, little man.

4400 passing yards working with a bunch of dumb modestly-rated rookies who can't run routes is close to off-scale.  Kenbrell Thompkins wasn't even drafted, Boyce was a third day pick, Dobson at least was a second day pick -- none of this trading up for Sammy Watkins at pick #4 business.

Brady shows no signs of regressing, and he has to fall a long way to become an average NFL quarterback.

I read the MMQB piece on profootballtalk today, it's good to see just how committed and competitive Brady still is. It would be awesome if Brady could play at a high level for another five years, but Father Time tends to ruin great plans. I like how Brady feels he'll have to earn/win the starting quarterback job...the guy gets it...there aren't many that have his perspective on things. It's why he's the best.

It is also a sign that he totally understands BB and how he approaches the game. Brady and BB are mind melded together and they help drive the team.

Brady is not the same as when he was younger. I personally think he is smart and better but in AFCCGs he has not clicked in a while. Remember we have been to 3 straight AFCCGs. That does not happen if Brady is not the quarterback. He does not call the plays or pick the players around him. All Qb's make mistakes and miss passes.

At the end of the day, I don't wish we had another QB playing here instead of Brady. He is a team player, he does a lot of charity work, he is humble and he is a leader. His passion for the game is obvious even on a TV screen. The difference between being great and being just OK on any given day is inches or less.

This discussion is totally different if Samuels intercepts the pass, Tyree doesn't make the once in a lifetime catch, Welker catches the ball/Brady throws a better pass (take your pick), kicks were not made at the end of the superbowls we won.

Enjoy the time we have with Brady...it will be too soon when we will only be able to say "Brady would have made that pass or brought our team back" and "I was there when Brady threw touchdown to Moss", etc.

Football is a team game and Brady gets it... why do the posters think it is one persons fault?

We have an improved D and hopefully a better O than last year. If so we will be in AFCCS or Superbowl and if the season breaks well with injuries and luck we will be the champs again. Other than Seahawks, 49ers, and Broncos can any of the other 28 teams say that?

--- " I am a happy fan, a proud fan and I want us to win every game 28-0 but as long as we win, the team is united and has a sense of respect to the community and the game I will be a patriots fan and damn proud of it." ---- signed a pats fan from middle earth

    Two different Bradys?  LMAO

How about almost two completely different rosters between 2000-Current?

This is a team sport.  Championships are hardly the result of one player.

That being said. Brady is getting older, and has been in decline for a little while now.  The offense is much more complex than when he first played as a starter. He's probably forcing passes more often now than he did in the past; mostly because the defense and pass rush are significantly worse vs. the championship years.

If the Patriots don't win another championship in the next year or two, I don't think Brady will win another one for the rest of his career.
