We all agree that Brady can audibles at the line RIGHT?

If that is the case I'm sure he is given a couple or more plays from which he decides to go to based upon the D in place at the line of scrimage. I'm also sure if he sees something totally different he will audible to an all together different play.

So to place ALL of the play calling at the feet of Josh is pure BS. And to say one is better than the other is BS as well since they all (3) are involved in play calling to some degree.

Brady is having enough issues being the QB. Underthrown passes, overthrown passes, stupid passes. We're lucky Cromatie had butter fingers or we would have lost.

With the Patriots leading the NFL in offense and scoring in 2012, he continues to suck.

Here and now, in 2012, the Patriots lead the NFL in offense and scoring.  What else can you possibly want?  The Patriots have to play NFL defenses every week.  There are a lot of other smart coaches and skillful players out there.  No team has a monopoly on NFL talent.  It is hard to win games in the NFL.

Could it be running an efficient offense in the NFL is harder than it looks?

Not winning games 56 - 0 is the reason for crying about the #1 offense in the league!!

    Re: Brady:

I have been critical of Josh McDaniels for being too tricky sometimes but lets get this straight..he knows better than anyone here on any given play what the defense is hedged against and what types of plays they are focussing.

The crunch time plays he is calling are tough becasue he is seeing crowding of the line again and the ideal play actually involves going over the top. Other defenses are daring us to do that. That is of course a raising of the stakes when all the PAts want to do is close out the game and get one or two first downs. People on this board then criticize JMD for passing long. Actually that is a good play to call, what could be criticized is the execution.

The reality is the PAtriots need to develop competence in the over the top pass when they are being dared to take it. So far Welker has trouble getting separation over the top, Gronk is not 100% and Lloyd has some speed but has had trouble connecting with Brady.

They need to work on this. I thnk Hernandez should be utilized in these situations along with lloyd/brady tryingto get better.

..as for early in the game. Diverse offense / some run / some pass balance getting first downs with what will set up the rest of the game...looks like to some he is not running enough in this part of the game AND the PAts are going 3 and out too much. Think this is due to many many different personell lineups and due to this the offense is not tight as we have seen it in the past. This will get better as all the players get more experience in this system/year.

I don't know what to think in the Red zone...there the calls have baffled me andf I have no defense for JMcD on this point.  (at least last game was better)

What happened to McDaniels being the offense' savior who would leap in like Sam Beckett and set right what once went horribly wrong? How did he go from guru to mistake, and what happened to the connection with Brandon Lloyd that was going to re-ignite the old romantic spark from their courtship in Denver?

There is more parity in the league now.  Right now,we have a hurt o-line, two TE's that are not 100% and teams trying to bring their best against the defending AFC champs every game.  We have not played well for,a whole game yet and we have lost three games by four points.  Lets see what happens if everyone gets healthy.  A little better pass rush will help the secondary, who at times yesterday looked alright , but many times were flat out bad.  A also Bolden being hurt is a big loss.

Learn the game? This from you/ Funny. A guy that isn't bother by a 1 in 6 red zone efficiency against Seattle or just two trips to the end zone ( 1 in each half ) yesterday.

You're a pro at ignoring the obvious.
