The question where are all these haters coming from in the last week just to bash Brady and they don't even know the factual BS they spew.  I can see why Babe gets so testy... Let me sign up to the Frontburner just this week to agree with blasting Brady.  Something is fishy with this new influx of people saying the same thing skewing these threads.  Some seem obvious  that they are various versions of the same people.  Do people really have to use multiple accounts to sell their point? In Response to Re: Brady record against some of our favorite teams. : Babe gets testy because he wants to hold Brady completely blameless for the loss. He does that by excusing away the offense's mistakes and bashing the D. If spreading out blame to where it is obviously due is Brady bashing then I'm guilty. But remember this. I'm not excusing anybody. It was a team loss from the coaching staff on down. The defense gave up the TD in the 4th, Brady made mistakes and the coaching staff seemed to have no alternate plan for a hobbled Gronk.

Well, I think Babe gets testy because some people ( or one person with multiple handles) here like to blame only Brady.
You are 100% correct, it was a team loss.  Never disputed that.

Re: Brady record against some of our favorite teams.

I have no qualms with their regular season record(s). My point is that, up to 2006 we Pats fans absolutely hammered the Colts for piling up wins and stats yet ALWAYS coming away empty come playoff time. Now, we see that same dynamic with the Pats, with the only difference being theire inability to close the deal on their last 2 SB's, despite record breaking offenses.   We heaped abuse on Payaton for doing what Brady's done: lots of winxs/stats, yet Zippo for the last two SB appearances. But, I'm not satisfied with averaging double digit wins and divisional/conference  crowns if they pull a Vikings: go 0-4 in RECENT Super Bowl appearances. Think Vikes fans are overly happy and enthralled with that? For not having won one, I could say yes. But, we've been spoiled with 3 Lombardis. As Voince said, you're not playing for LAST YEAR. It's one more trophy that needs to be dusted off regularly. We can't live in the past, like some folks here want to. . I don't like seeing Pats fans becoming hypocritical when they have fallen into the Colts Malaise.... lots of regular season wins, records, and stats, but nothing to show for post seasons.

The Colts were easy to dislike, mainly because of Manning and they were fierce rivals, but they were a really good team that just fell short.

The unfortunate thing about the Super Bowl is that somebody has to lose. It's no easy feat getting there. I'm probably in the minority again for respecting the hell out of the Bills for getting to the Super Bowl four years in a row.

I was disappointed when the Patriots couldn't seal the deal both times against the Giants but I got over it.

as much as redeyedjeti is an idiot troll....he is right that brady's brainfart safety in the super bowl went a long way towards helping the giants win that game.....it also didnt help that they didnt score a single point after that hernandez td.....too much pressure was put on the defense and they were saving the offenses' a ss over and over until the end.....really disappointing execution by the offense in that game....and in the ravens game too.
    Posted by BostonPride34

The safety wasn't a factor in my opinion because the Patriots quickly overcame the 9-0 deficit and were cruising with a 17-9 lead. You can't dismiss the defense allowing the Giants to score on 3 of their final 4 possessions and yes, the offense also sputtered, failing to score on their final 4 possessions.

It is what it is. We came in with a D that gave up tons of yards and first downs all season and they did that in the Super Bowl. We came in with an offense minus Brady's #1 most devastating weapon on the season and it showed. Lost a close one.

Just ignore the little fact that the amount of possessions in the game was equal. Just like the ESPN hacks you pick and choose the stat that serves your purpose while ignoring all the ones that show you to be fool.

Re: Brady record against some of our favorite teams.

I'm sure BB would agree that there is plenty of blame to go around. Poor protection on the safety, an interception, too many yards for the Giants, no turnovers from the D, bad penalties on D, D collapse at endgame, difficult pass to Welker, too many dropped passes, etc.

But the question is what needs to be fixed in order to win a game like that.

BB answered that question in the offseason. Massive investment on defense and bring in somebody to stretch the field on offense.

Of course if Gronk was healthy we probably win that despite the improvements needed.

Here's a clue for you dum bass. The Giants intended to limit the possessions and control the ball to keep our offense off the field. Of course you try to expose yourself to another team's strength less. Learn the game.

Hi Rusty. What is this fetish of yours about not scoring in quarters. You've whined about it all year. The entire NFL doesn't score in certain quarters quite often. It's the moot point of an imbecile.

I do know the Giants scored on 3 of 4 possessions in the second half and I do know that is abysmal defense.

In Response to Re: Brady record against some of our favorite teams. : I'm not sure why this conversation has continued.  Just yesterday, GlenRustyPerv finally admitted that it was the defense's inability to create any turnovers that lost the game. After a season where that awful D was able to get a couple of turnovers per game, they got ZERO in the superbowl, while the offense had one, less than it's average.  As most people know, team with that win the turnover battle, win the game.  BB built the team to provide opposing offenses a good reason to pass frequently, that is making it easy for even average QBs to have great days passing the ball.  This created a huge advantage for that patsie D, knowing that more than 60% of the time a pass was coming their way.  In the superbowl, the D failed to create a single turnover, even with the that advantage increasing to almost 70% passing. Case closed.  Good thing you finally came around GlenRusty.

Obviously the defense did what was expected. They gave up tons of yards and let Eli pick them apart with a 75% completion rate, keeping the already handicapped offense off the field. What they didn't do was get any turnovers which was a hallmark of their game. Lacking that caveat and being left to suffer the general drawback of that defense was just too much for the O to overcome lacking a healthy Gronk. That caused a close game which exposed us to the other glaring deficiency of the defense. That being the propensity to absolutely collapse at the endgame of close contests which they had already done in two of the three seasonal losses.

This is priceless...You Patsie fans are such hypocrites. Whenever Peyton Manning "chokes" in the playoffs or in a Super Bowl you ALL point the finger at him and call him a choker. When Mr. Pretty Boy Brady "chokes" in the big game you ALL want to point the finger at the rest of the team. When Manning wins, its because it was a team effort, when Brady wins, its because he's the "best ever". You guys are a joke! This whole fanbase is a joke! LMFAO!!  Its a "team" game idiots! Win or lose, its a "team" game. To call Peyton a "choker" and Brady the "goat" is a joke.     Peyton />Brady

Teams generally don't score on 50% 0f their possessions, especially if they play a good D.. It's much easier to do that on a bad D, though.
In order for them to score in each quarter they would have had to scored at that 50% rate.
Their actual rate was 38% which is higher than the league average of 31.22%.
Funny thing is if you project that 38% to 12 possessions, the Pats would have scored 5 times. Instead, they scored 3 times of 8 possessions @ 38%.
    Possessions Matter!
The Pat's D inability to get off the field resulted in 2 LESS scores for the O.
    Can you live with that?

I don't know what other people would do, but I haven't generally called Manning a choke. The Colts have had bigger problems than him in most of their playoff loses. But that pick six was about as bad as it gets.
