    What a waste!

    A.) Who gets cut?
B.) I guess they don't have faith in Price.
C.) Why not wait for Seattle to cut him?

Wow got to set a couple things straight with you 49 and John.

1st John he's played for 2 teams that means HE"S NOT A JOURNEYMAN

2nd 49 BB thinks the 2 hardest positions to translate from college to the pro's are CB and WR. Given that Price went to a college not known for it's wr's it only makes sense that he lets him practice for a full year before seeing any significant playing time. Also Seattle wasn't about to cut Branch. They were watching his health and if he couldn't get health this past preseason they would have cut him. But he did so they didn't. As far as the pick, I agree a 4th is a little high for him, I was thinking 5th at most, but we had an extra 4th and in a weak draft next year do you honestly see a 4th rnd making the team? Could you honestly say that a late 4th (I'm assuming it's our pick) is worth as much as a vet WR to shore up a very little depth young WR core?

a fourth round pick for someone Seattle doesn't want. Sounds like the Derrick Burgess Trade all over again. Those who forget Branch did not start getting hurt in Seattle. He was hurt plenty in New England. BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. Maybee a 6th rounder

    49Pats,

Do you have faith in Price? He has never played an NFL down outside of the preseason. It isn't a shocker that they would want a vet presence.

Let's hope to see some of Price sooner rather than later!! He is exciting as an athlete.

not a waste... his presence and familiarity with the system will help the pats be effective, but more importantly he will be able to help tate, price, and edelman. like this move... only problem is WHAT NUMBER WILL HE WEAR?

    Re: Branch now a PATRIOT

Deion Branch became a free agent and then the Patriots couldn't afford him and let him go.  Now he's slowed and injured.  He is the Seahawks' leading wide receiver right now, which at 13 catches over 4 games is a joke, but it means that he's serviceable.  I'm hoping maybe the Seahawks have a horrid QB who throws too many picks, 6 in 4 games versus 4 touchdowns?  In any case the fishbreaths are a disaster this year and Pete Carroll is better off drafting rookies with picks and rebuilding.  Old players won't help him make any playoffs at all.

Branch's great strength is that he knows Brady and the Patriots' playbook.  He can probably step in next Sunday if needed.

4th rounder sounds pricey to me...but if he's healthy, maybe not so much.

not only is he familiar with the system - he'd also be a good role model for on-field presence of mind.

What in the hell is wrong with you people? How on earth is this a bad trade? We get a Vet that knows the system, a guy that Brady trusts all for a late 4th rounder. We shipped him to seattle for a first, got him back for a 4th, not a bad deal.

This makes our offense that much more stable, yes Branch has knee problems but he gives us a vet that Brady knows really well. Branch, Welker and Tate with Hernandez, BJGE, Woodhead and Gronk. Throw in Edelman when he gets heathy and add in Crumpler who is solid and we have ourselves a great offense.

Branch is no deep threat but he will catch more balls coming his way and they will be high percentage passes, not deep bombs that always seemed to fall incomplete or were INT's.

Gross, Deion Branch is a joke. We traded for a guy who held out and left us with Reche Caldwell as our number 1 WR. Maybe Moss should've done the same instead of coming to camp and fulfilling his contractual obligations.

People seem happy with the Branch trade even though he sold us out. Maybe sellouts get more love.

This guy was clutch for us in the superbowls, in both Superbowls he was in for us, he put up 21 catches for 276 yards, which puts him 3rd all time in receptions in the big game. In the 2006 loss to the Broncos, he had 153 yards.

He played his best when it mattered most, the playoffs and the big stage. I honestly can say that I can't say teh same thing about Moss, he was a nonfactor in the postseason in 2007 and last season.

When did you become a Pats fan? Im guessing in 07...

If you followed the Pats before then, you would know how useful Branch was in this offense. He played his best in the big games, something Moss never did here for us. Your b!tching about a 4th rounder, how many bloody rooks do you see making this young team next year? 7-8 at best...

    Re: Branch now a PATRIOT

If you forget about the 4th Rd draft choice for a minute, Branch makes the Patriots better.......especially @ picking up 3rd downs.

As a matter of fact, Branch helps you more than Moss on 3rd down conversions (assuming Branch is healthy).
