    Brian Tyms TE

Is there any way Brian Tyms can play the AH role from the TE spot good hieght at 6'3 only thing is he weighs 210 ? He looked bigger than that if he keeps it up throughout preseason id like too see this guy make his way onto the roster somehow.  Also good to have if Dobson doesn't come back right away or gets hurt again.  Again we need to see more from this guy but so far so good.

DOBSON may not be back with the injuried arch..    Tyms could be his replacement.

    Re: Brian Tyms TE

Tyms has a 4 game suspension so he won't be back until week 5. In addition Tyms has no real experience as an inline blocker so no he can't be a TE. He can, however, play slot as a receiver but given size and speed looks like he'd be more natural on the outside. But, that's just my opinion.

    Trust me, I'm an engineer!

Not a chance . . . Develin will be FB and 3rd or 4th TE

Biggish for a receiver but no where near heavy enough to be a TE.  Most TEs are taller than 6'3" and heavier than 250.  Ideal size is probably closer to 6'6" and 265 (Gronk's size).

Even a small TE like Hernandez (6'1") weighed 245.

Tyms is listed at 6'3" but he measured in at a hair over 6'1" at his pro day in 2012. Also weighed in at 203Lbs

Hernandez was around 6'2" 1/2 and 245Lbs at the combine.

    Re: Brian Tyms TE

Brady can't use a small speedster running deep, because his accuracy at 30 yards is no good.  Brady can heave the ball 40 yards, but that's all.  That was never Brady's game.  So, Brady needs the tall Randy Moss type of X receiver who can outjump, wall off and outfight a fast little cornerback for the ball.

Dobson fits the role.  Tyms fits the role.  Tyms will be the backup.

Bonus for Tiny Tyms:  I suspect that he doesn't count against the all-important 53 man limit until week 5.  By week 5, some player will almost certainly be injured.  Amazing how this system works in Foxboro.

of course not. guy is a WR, not big enough (weight wise) to be a TE, nor do these guys just change positions overnight or on a whim. ridiculous thread choice for your first or second post.
