Hard game to predict...  Broncos are ripe for an upset since they have played a weak schedule, but ravens are on a short week playing at altitude.

Gomer chokes in playoffs and cold weather but flacco has had a mediocre year and is prone to mistakes also.

Ravens have ray Lewis to fire them up and lead them but they've had him many times in the playoffs and lost...

broncos fans are insane and desperate for a win to affirm Elways decision to get manning,  but desperation can get in the way of good football.

So basically add all that up and shake it out . What does it tell...?

 

1.  Should be an ugly game with a lot of mistakes.

2 . defense and special teams will probably score deciding points.

3.  Referee calls will be crucial and likely will favor Denver.

4. Big plays will be made on deep balls ... This favors Baltimore both with receivers (smith, boldin) and safeties (reed, pollftard).

5. Toughness.  This is a game where the tougher team wins.  The gritty team.  The hardened team.  The more experienced team.

 

Pick...  Ravens.

Manning has been wearing the glove for weeks now in preparation of cold weather.  He's actually played better with the glove.

It's not just about keeping your throwing hand warm. It's the whole deal, from head to toe, with the mental aspect being the most important.

Manning hasn't seen anything like 6-17 degrees, potential snow, and a sub-zero wind-chill, in years.

This will be a interesting game to watch.  In my mind I really think the Broncos win this one fairly easy.  I think they jump out with an early lead, scoring on their first drive and then Manning will just control the game.  No doubt bout it, Manning is a lot better QB then Flacco, heck no denying he is one of the best.  Sure he has underachieved when it comes to Playoffs and Super Bowls but he has this Denver offense clicking.  I hate to have to face either of these teams. 

While I want the Pats to play at home next week after beating the Texans, I just don't see the Ravens pulling the upset today.

Wow, lots of people starting to shift toward Baltimore!  I hope you all are right, but I have a feeling Peyton is itching to squash all of the "Peyton can't win in the cold" talk.  I think Denver wins a close one.  hope I'm wrong.
